  • Patent number: 11541893
Abstract: A system for estimating the friction between a road surface and a tire of a vehicle includes at least one first sensor and at least one vehicle processing device containing a friction estimation algorithm which is arranged to estimate the friction between the road surface and the tire of the vehicle based on friction related measurements is provided. The vehicle processing device is arranged to: receive an estimate of the expected friction between the road surface and the tire of the vehicle from a central processing device, from a storage device in the vehicle, or from at least one second sensor in the vehicle; adapt the friction estimation algorithm based on said received estimate of the expected friction; receive at least one friction related measurement from the at least one first sensor in the vehicle; and use the adapted friction estimation algorithm to perform an estimation of the friction between the road surface and the tire of the vehicle based on the at least one friction related measurement.

  • Publication number: 20210101648
Abstract: The present application relates to a method and a system for operation of an air guide or deflection member of a vehicle. The method comprising: providing an air guiding or deflecting member, movably attached to the vehicle, providing an electrically drivable actuator, driving the actuator to adjust an orientation of the member relative to the vehicle, measuring a current of the actuator, determining the current derivative value, and determining a desired orientation of the member based on the current derivative value. The system comprising an air guiding or deflecting member, an electrically drivable actuator, and a controller. The controller is configured to measure a current of the actuator, determine a current derivative value, and determine a desired orientation of the member based on the current derivative value. This arrangement enables adjustment of the member's position into an optimal orientation without connection or communication with other systems of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20150358727
Abstract: An active buffeting noise control arrangement for a vehicle having one or more window panels of a vehicle cabin. One or more actuators are positioned at or near the one or more window panels and are operable to selectively vibrate the one or more windows in order to generate sound waves that will counteract a low frequency throb or buffeting event. The arrangement further includes one or more sensors in a vehicle cabin for detecting the buffeting event in transmitting sensor data to a control module. The control module is connected to the one or more sensors as well as the one or more actuators where the control module receives the sensory data, determines if a buffeting event is occurring and commands the one or more actuator assemblies to vibrate the window and generate sound waves that are operable to counteract the buffeting event.
