Abstract: A modular cosmetic storage system is provided which may be configured to securely hold refillable cosmetic containers. The system may include a plurality of cases which may be removably sealed together with a lid, allowing a user to choose a desired combination of cosmetics. The refillable cosmetic containers may fit securely within the body of the cases such that they are readily accessible by a user.

Abstract: A method for adapting the rendering of a virtual environment based on the performance of a computer system in which the method is run modifies graphic parameters of generated images. The method enables the highest possible graphic quality to be dynamically maintained in a virtual reality or augmented reality simulation, depending on availability of the computer system's hardware resources.

Abstract: A system and method for making payments using an application installed on a mobile device, which has access to at least one source of funds. Said application interacts with a Point of Sale (POS) terminal through an application server. The user “checks-in” from the mobile application into said application server and the POS terminal sends a verification request to said application server, where the user confirms payment for a purchase. An Electronic Funds Transfer processing and switching system requests authorization from an issuer for completing said payment and provides confirmation of the transaction being authorized to the application server. The application server then notifies the mobile application and the POS terminal that the transaction has been completed in order to update the transaction records. A receipt of the transaction details may be printed or sent by email to the user.

Abstract: Structures within a service controller portion of a collaboration system collect and store content captured by a client service module operating within each collaborator's computing device. From commands received from a collaboration director's portable computing device, the service controller selects individual collaborator computing devices from which to capture screen content at selected rates. Collaborator content is sent to the director's portable computing device to be monitored by the director. Under command from the director's portable computing device, the service controller may also send collaborator content to a public display computing device. The collaboration director may designate one or more collaborative participants as “live presenter(s).” A live presenter's screen content may be captured and publicly displayed at higher frame rates and in real time in order to simulate a white board or slide presentation.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and, methods are disclosed for processing stylus interactions with a device and drawing the results of those interactions in a manner that reduces lag. This includes the introduction of a separate overlay module layer that can be updated separately from a normal view system/process of a computing device. In this respect, the overlay module layer may be used to remove unnecessary synchronization events to allow for quick display of stylus input events in the overlay module layer while still allowing the normal rendering process of the operating system to be followed.

Abstract: A support band apparatus for use in reinforcing neck and wrist portions of a shirt to prevent limpness and droopiness from normal use of the shirt includes an elastic band assembly having a first elastic band, a second elastic band and a third elastic band, each elastic band having a first end coupled to a second end to create a loop, the loops of the first, second and third elastic bands positioned such that each elastic band is intertwined with the other elastic bands, the elastic band assembly disposed within an inner pocket of a neck collar or wrist hems of the shirt, and a plurality of fasteners coupled to each elastic band assembly and positioned at predetermined locations throughout the first, second and third elastic bands.

Abstract: The device of the invention includes the following 5 new elements in each mixer-settler: a) agitators with blunt edged turbines, b) decreasing degree of agitation throughout the series of mixing compartments, c) baffle with a central window in the settler interface, located after the flow buffers, and d) baffle without a window, centered in the settler interface, located after the baffle with a window. These elements allow for an operative method which inhibits secondary dispersion, reducing the formation of micro-droplets, without affecting the mass transfer between the phases. Consequently, this obtains a phase separation process with entrainments so small that it is possible to drastically increase the quality of the product, by obtaining an ultra-pure aqueous extract, simultaneously reducing the settling surface required.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process involving the following steps: a) performing leaching of the raw material with an acid aqueous solution to dissolve the zinc if said raw material is a solid; b) optionally performing solid-liquid separation; c) neutralizing the aqueous solution once the zinc-containing raw material is in liquid form; d) performing solid-liquid separation of the solution rich in zinc from the solids precipitated during the neutralization step; e) extracting the zinc using an acid organic solvent; f) purifying the organic solvent from the extraction step; g) re-extracting zinc from the organic solvent using an acid aqueous solution; h) recovering the zinc by electrolysis and/or crystallization and/or precipitation.

Abstract: The process comprises the following stages: a) leaching; b) solid-liquid separation; c) neutralization of the aqueous solution; d) solid-liquid separation of the zinc-rich solution; e) zinc extraction; f) purification of the organic solvent from the extraction stage; g) stripping the ionic zinc loaded in the organic solvent; h) recovering the zinc contained in the aqueous acid solution from the stripping. The following barriers to impurities have been established: gentle leaching; alkaline pulp treatment; treatment of a small stream of aqueous solution, collected before and/or after the zinc extraction at step e); high selectivity of the dissolved zinc extraction; treatment of the zinc loaded in the organic solvent; cleaning treatment of the zinc-laden organic solvent, with an ultra-pure acid solution; partial bleeding and treatment of the stripped organic solvent; bleed of small stream of the final product producing loop, which will be recycled to the organic loop.
