  • Patent number: 9129457
Abstract: An electronic door lock mounts to a door and includes an inner side and an outer side. The electronic door lock is operable to control access to an access controlled area positioned adjacent the inner side of the door. The electronic door lock includes an outer base connected to the outer side of the door, an inner base connected to the inner side of the door, a locking mechanism coupled to the door and movable between a locked position and an unlocked position in response to a control signal, and a control circuit disposed within the inner base and operable to generate the control signal in response to an input credential. An attachment interface is at least partially formed as part of the outer base.

  • Patent number: 8079240
Abstract: The invention provides an electronic door lock for a door having a first side and a second side. The electronic door lock includes a locking mechanism, a credential reader, and a programmable control circuit. The locking mechanism is coupled to the door and is movable between a locked position in which the door is inhibited from opening and an unlocked position in which the door is free to open. The credential reader is coupled to the door and is operable to read a credential. The programmable control circuit is coupled to the door and is operable to move the locking mechanism between the locked position and the unlocked position at least partially in response to the read credential. The programmable control circuit is selectively programmed to move the locking mechanism to a pre-selected either one of the locked position and the unlocked position in response to a failure signal.

  • Patent number: 5500589
Abstract: A magnetic sensor is provided with a carrier that has a cavity shaped to receive a magnet in sliding association therein. Ribs are provided to guide the movement of the magnet into the cavity and a deformable rib is used to hold the magnet at a precise position determined by an active calibration process. A magnetically sensitive component is rigidly attached to a substrate and the substrate is rigidly attached to the carrier in which the cavity is formed. Electrically conductive leads are molded into the carrier and extend through the carrier to positions where they can be electrically connected to circuit runs on the substrate. A flexible wall can also be formed in the carrier to deflect in response to the insertion of a magnet into the cavity. This provides additional holding capability that retains the magnet in position when an external force is removed.

  • Patent number: 5469055
Abstract: A dual complementary target arrangement is provided which enables the targets to be formed as an integral part of a cam shaft. By machining first and second radially enlarged integral portions of a shaft, complementary targets are provided which each comprise segments of differing radial dimension measured from the central axis of the shaft. By permitting the formation of the rotatable targets as an integral portion of a cam shaft, the complementary targets can be incorporated as an integral portion of an automobile engine without necessitating the prefabrication of complementary targets and subsequent attachment of the targets to a cam shaft. Not only does the unitary structure of the cam shaft reduce the manufacturing costs of the target and shaft combination, but in certain applications it makes possible the use of complementary targets within the structure of an automobile engine where the use of individual components attached together would not be practical.
