Patent number: 11112227Abstract: A tape measure attachment system including a finger guard assembly for protecting a user from injury is disclosed. When taking measurements on surfaces it is possible to become injured because of a splinter or cut from the surface. The tape measure attachment system prevents such injuries to occur. The tape measure attachment system is mounted to a tape measure blade through a measuring blade slot created by an attachment left side and an attachment right side. These two sides make it possible to take accurate measurements without having to touch the working surface that may possibly cause injury. There is also an overhang that extends towards a user in order to allow the user to glide the tape measure blade along the working surface without having to touch that surface. The tape measure attachment system also includes a pivot point that allows measurements to be taken about a fixed point.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2019Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Inventor: Gustavo Lopez

Publication number: 20200248018Abstract: A UV/LED printing and finishing process is disclosed. The printing and finishing process improves the manner in which printing, permanent bonding, and finishing is performed on products containing low surface energy plastics, such as high-density polyethylene furniture. The process includes abrading a surface of the low surface energy plastic and then applying a corona or plasma treatment to the surface of the low surface energy plastic to increase the adhesion capabilities of the surface. Once the surface has been treater, the process may include printing a polymer ink onto the surface of the low surface energy plastic, such as by utilizing a UV/LED flatbed or hybrid printer. The process may also include curing the printed surface of the low surface energy plastic, and then finally applying a clear inorganic top coating onto the printed surface to protect the UV/LED cured polymer ink.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2020Publication date: August 6, 2020Applicant: NFSC Holdings, LLCInventors: Casey R. Publication number: 20190128267Abstract: A fluid pump including an integrated pumping section and motor section may be achieved by a variety of techniques. In certain aspects, a fluid pump may include an integrated pumping section, motor section, and a control section that share structural components in order to reduce the structural material required for the complete device while simultaneously utilizing the integrated motor controller to enable the pump to operate at varying speeds other than the synchronous electrical power frequency that powers the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2017Publication date: May 2, 2019Inventors: MICHAEL J. VAN STEENBURG, GUSTAVO LOPEZ, VICTOR DE JESUS MELENDEZ LEAL

Publication number: 20180245596Abstract: Fluid pumps with integrated electric motors may be implemented by a variety of techniques. In one example embodiment, a pump may include an electric motor with a magnetically driven impeller/rotor that eliminates the need for a mechanical roller bearing system and shaft seals, which are a common cause of failure in fluid pump systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2017Publication date: August 30, 2018Inventors: MICHAEL J. VAN STEENBURG, GUSTAVO LOPEZ

Publication number: 20180006510Abstract: Electric machines may be attained by a variety of systems, processes, and techniques. In particular implementations, an electric machine may include a stator core composed of a variety of circumferential segments and a rotor core. In certain implementations, the stator core may include a number of individually-formed poles, each including a radially extending portion and a base portion. The base portions may be coupled together to form the stator core, and the radially extending portions may defined an inner cavity. The rotor core may include a number of radially extending poles, with the rotor sized to rotate inside the inner cavity of the stator.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2017Publication date: January 4, 2018Inventors: MICHAEL J. VAN STEENBURG, GUSTAVO LOPEZ

Patent number: 8059700Abstract: A method of processing positioning signal constituted by a superposition of individual signals generated by a plurality of emitters, in particular satellite emitters, comprising:—a first step of coarse acquisition of said individual signals, comprising correlation of the received positioning signal with locally generated replicas of said individual signals;—a step of identifying spurious correlation peaks induced by interferences; and—a step of estimating the code delays and the carrier frequency shifts of the acquired individual signals which are not affected by said interferences. According to preferred embodiments of the invention, the method can also comprise:—a refining step of determining more accurate estimates of said code delays and carrier frequency shifts; and—a step of interference cancellation. The method of the invention is particularly suitable to indoor positioning applications.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2006Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Agence Spatiale EuropeenneInventors: Gustavo Lopez-Risueno, Gonzalo Seco Granados
