  • Patent number: 6855400
Abstract: The invention relates to a film comprising: (i) at least one polyester layer containing more than 10 wt % of a pigment, and (ii) at least one polyester layer substantially devoid of pigment, where the ratio of the respective thickness of the layer(s) devoid of pigment to the pigmented layer(s) is at least 1. The film shows good mechanical properties together with high opacity properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 1998
Date of Patent: February 15, 2005
Assignee: DuPont Teijin Films US Limited Partnership
    Inventors: Christine Andreis, Gusty Feyder
  • Patent number: 6638465
Abstract: A multilayer film is formed by coextruding and bistretching EVOH, binder and polyester followed by heat treating for less than 8 seconds at a temperature between 170° C. and 250° C.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 11, 2001
Date of Patent: October 28, 2003
Assignee: Dupont Teijin Films US Limited Partnership
    Inventors: Christine Andreis-Olinger, Gusty Feyder
  • Patent number: 5595819
Abstract: Polyester film is disclosed having a thickness not greater than six microns with cubic calcium carbonate incorporated therein resulting in a Kt.sup.-0.5 of at least 21, where K is a stack stiffness constant and t is film thickness in microns. The film exhibits excellent slittability and winding performance, providing film rolls of uniform hardness with sufficient compressive strength to avoid film buckling. The film can be employed in capacitors, digital stencils and thermal transfer media.

  • Patent number: 5157821
Abstract: An elevated temperature induced reduction of insulation resistance of a metal-polyethylene terephthalate film capacitor is eliminated by controlled cooling through a glass transition temperature of the polyethylene terephthalate film or by elevated temperature storing below the glass transition temperature.
