Abstract: Apparatus and methods for an endoscopic patient safety device that uses video monitoring and machine learning technology to identify abnormalities of a patient's respiratory system and provides automatic insertion, placement, and navigation of the endoscopic patient safety device into the patient's body are described. The endoscopic patient safety device automatically determines a patient's anatomy and retracts and expands to place its tip in an optimal zone for performing aspiration and other medical tests. Enroute to being inserted without having to be held, the endoscopic patient safety device uses sensors and machine learning to regulate its insertion speed, pauses, and expansion and retraction based on abnormalities encountered along the way. The data collected by the device is reported wirelessly for further analysis.

Abstract: In one example, a hospital bed headboard is disclosed. The hospital bed headboard includes a planar multiple paneled headboard. The planar multiple paneled headboard includes a first panel and a second panel, each with a cavity, that can pivotally attach to corresponding supports and are configured to swing open inwardly toward a patient supported by the mobile hospital bed to provide an egress area. Each cavity houses a foldable tray concealed within it that can swivel and open towards the patient. The hospital bed also includes a charging port to provide power to attached electronic devices and a GPS locator that allows location tracking for the hospital bed.
