Patent number: 11790901Abstract: Described herein are dialog systems, and techniques for providing such dialog systems, that are suitable for use on standalone computing devices. In some embodiments, a dialog system includes a dialog manager, which takes as input an input logical form, which may be a representation of user input. The dialog manager may include a dialog state tracker, an execution subsystem, a dialog policy subsystem, and a context stack. The dialog state tracker may generate an intermediate logical form from the input logical form combined with a context from the context stack. The context stack may maintain a history of a current dialog, and thus, the intermediate logical form may include contextual information potentially missing from the input logical form. The execution subsystem may execute the intermediate logical form to produce an execution result, and the dialog policy subsystem may generate an output logical form based on the execution result.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Thanh Long Duong, Mark Edward Johnson, Vu Cong Duy Hoang, Tuyen Quang Pham, Yu-Heng Hong, Vladislavs Dovgalecs, Guy Bashkansky, Jason Eric Black, Andrew David Bleeker, Serge Le Huitouze

Patent number: 8370823Abstract: Device, system, and method of computer program optimization. For example, an apparatus to analyze a plurality of versions of computer program includes: a code analyzer to determine one or more code differences between first and second versions of the computer program, based on at least one optimization log associated with at least one of the first and second versions of the computer program.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2007Date of Patent: February 5, 2013Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Guy Bashkansky, Gad Haber, Marcel Zalmanovici

Publication number: 20090193402Abstract: Optimizing a computer program by setting a first compiler optimization configuration for a first entity of a computer program, setting a second compiler optimization configuration for a second entity of the computer program, where the first and second entities are of the same type and where the first and second compiler optimization configurations differ, and compiling the computer program in accordance with the compiler optimization configurations, thereby creating a compiled program.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2008Publication date: July 30, 2009Inventors: Guy Bashkansky, Gad Haber, Yaakov Yaari, Marcel Zalmanovici

Patent number: 6820264Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is directed to a method for compiling, storing, and interpreting, as often as needed, a representation of any MPI datatype, including the steps of compiling a tree representation of an MPI datatype into a compact, linear data gather scatter program (DGSP) wherein the DGSP is of a form general enough to encode an arbitrarily complex datatype, registering the compact linear DGSP with a communications subsystem for later interpretation by the subsystem for at least one of sends, receives, packs and unpacks, creating a registered DGSP, and interpreting the registered DGSP. In one embodiment of the present invention, the form of the DGSP uses a single generalized representation. In another embodiment the single generalized representation covers any of the arbitrarily complex datatype patterns that can arise in this context.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2000Date of Patent: November 16, 2004Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Guy Bashkansky, Sergei Shmulyian, Ron Sivan, Richard R.
