  • Patent number: 4753750
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant. To improve dispensibility in automatic washing machines, the composition contains as a viscosity and gel controlling agent an alkylene glycol monoalkyl ether, especially diethyleneglycol monobutyl ether.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 31, 1984
Date of Patent: June 28, 1988
    Assignee: Delaware
Inventors: Trazollah Ouhadi, Guy Broze, Louis Dehan, Danielle Bastin
  • Patent number: 4749512
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant. To improve dispensibility in automatic washing machines, the composition contains also a nonionic surfactant which has been modified to convert a free OH group thereof to a moiety having a COOH group, e.g., by reaction withh succinic anhydride.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 3, 1986
Date of Patent: June 7, 1988
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Company
Inventors: Guy Broze, Danielle Bastin, Leopold Laitem
  • Patent number: 4661280
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant in which the stability of the composition is improved by the addition of small amounts of an aluminum salt of higher fatty acid, especially aluminum tristearate. The yield stress of the compositions can be improved with the same or lower plastic viscosity, especially at low concentrations of the aluminum salt. The aluminum salts also exhibit an antifoaming effect and can be used to boost softening.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 1985
Date of Patent: April 28, 1987
    Assignee: Colgate

  • Patent number: 4655954
Abstract: A low polyphosphate or a polyphosphate free liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of an alkali metal polyacetal carboxylic acid builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant. The laundry detergent composition comprises a nonaqueous liquid nonionic surfactant containing a stable suspension of an alkali metal polyacetal carboxylic acid builder salt.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 1985
Date of Patent: April 7, 1987
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Company
Inventors: Guy Broze, Danielle Bastin, Leo Laitem, Trazollah Ouhadi
  • Patent number: 4648983
Abstract: A liquid heavy duty laundry detergent composition comprising a suspension of builder salt in liquid nonionic surfactant in which the stability against settling of the composition is improved by the addition of small amounts of urea. The yield stress of the compositions can be improved with the same or lower plastic viscosity, especially at low concentrations of the urea. The addition of small amounts of urea also improves the dispersibility of the suspension of builder salt when the composition is added to water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 1985
Date of Patent: March 10, 1987
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Company
    Inventors: Guy Broze, Jean-Paul Delvenne
  • Patent number: 4622173
Abstract: A mixture of an acid terminated non-ionic surfactant and a quaternary ammonium salt surfactant provide better detergency than equivalent amounts of either of the surfactant compounds alone. The surfactant mixture is preferably used in conjunction with liquid non-ionic surfactant in heavy duty non-aqueous laundry detergents but can also be used in aqueous liquid detergent compositions and powder detergent compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 31, 1984
Date of Patent: November 11, 1986
    Assignee: Colgate-Palmolive Co.
