  • Patent number: 6318009
Abstract: Steam iron comprising a water reservoir (17) communicating with a vaporization chamber (12) through an outlet (23) having a vertical communication passage (25), and a device (35) for adjusting the water admission flow rate into the vaporization chamber comprising a vertical throttle (39) whose lower end (44) has a bulge (46) and whose upper end (41) is secured to a manual control button (43). The bulge (46) of the throttle (39) is mounted gripped in the passage (25) of the outlet (23) and pointwise bridges a vertical groove (52) which is provided over a portion of the height of the passage (25) and which thus delimits with the bulge (46) of the throttle (39) a cross-section for passage of the water when the throttle (39) is in its steaming position.

  • Patent number: 5983536
Abstract: An iron with a lower housing includes a heating base and a sole plate under the base, an evaporation chamber and a steam distribution chamber in communication with steam outlets in the sole plate. The evaporation chamber includes at least one steam channel having an outlet in the lower surface of the base and arranged in such a way that the steam flows through the evaporation chamber along a path which promotes evaporation of the water before it reaches said channel, and the distribution chamber is provided in the lower surface of the base and communicates with the outlet of the steam channel.

  • Patent number: 5979089
Abstract: This iron comprises a sole (10) having a heating base (15) and a plate (21) mounted below the base, and two steam chambers (28, 29) of which one (28) communicates with a first series of steam outlets (38) in the plate via corresponding steam distribution orifices (35), and of which the other (29) communicates with a second series of steam outlets (53) pierced in the plate via a steam distribution chamber (51) provided in the lower surface (23) of the base and communicating with said steam chamber (29). The distribution chamber (51) is located in the region located in the tip (11) of the heating base (15), and the second series of outlet holes (53) is grouped in the point (11) of the plate (21) of the sole.
