  • Patent number: 5913775
Abstract: An inflatable roof (1), which can be unfolded and folded away by respectively inflating and deflating it, includes a plurality of longitudinal inflatable beams A, B, C . . . arranged side by side, a mechanism (4) for supplying the inflatable beams with pressurized fluid, and a mechanism for sliding the beams along at least one unfolding or folding-up track (2, 2a) formed by a rigid beam sealingly passing through the inflatable beams. The rigid beam is formed by a pipe (3) for conveying pressurized fluid for inflating or deflating the beams. The pipe communicates at least at one of its ends, with the pressurized-fluid supply mechanism (4), and with the interior of at least one inflatable beam via at least one orifice (5, 5a, 5b . . . ) formed in the wall of the pipe (3). The pipe is equipped with a device or devices for blocking off the at least one orifice.

  • Patent number: 5526610
Abstract: A multi-lobed, double-wall inflatable vault includes a plurality of distinct, inflatable hollow beams. Each beam is formed by a single continuous envelope and has four zones including two lateral zones defining webs of the beam and upper and lower zones defining flanges of the beams. The beams are arranged side by side contiguously. Respective confronting webs of two adjacent beams are held opposite each other by respective continuous longitudinal flaps that can be joined by mechanical linking structure. Each flap has a T-shaped transverse cross-sectional configuration including two lateral flanges fastened to the envelope of the respective beam and a central tongue to be linked by the linking structure to the tongue of the flap of the adjacent beam.

  • Patent number: 5102264
Abstract: A device for the integrated suspension and manipulation of legs supporting a jack-up oil platform having a hull mounted displaceably on the legs by drive mechanisms having at least two opposite units each formed by a motor associated with at least one speed reducer driving an output gear co-operating with opposite racks mounted on at least part of the length of the legs. The opposite units of each drive mechanism are mounted in articulated fashion on a structure supporting them via at least one bearing allowing a determined angular deflection of the units and of each corresponding output gear. The motor and the speed reducer of each opposite unit are housed in a member for absorbing energy, used, in particular, at the moment of the placement of the legs on the sea bed and for limiting the stresses due to the flexure of the legs under the action of swells and the wind.
