Abstract: A cleaning device for cleaning surfaces such a toilet bowls or baths comprising a handle having a trigger at one end and a head at the other. The head is adapted to fit into a disposable cleaning pad in the form of a slipper. The cleaning pad is fixed to the head during the cleaning operation and it may be attached or removed from the head by fixing means actuated by the trigger means. The fixing means are actively disengaged from the cleaning pad by ejection means.

Abstract: A set of protective sleeves comprising two or more protective sleeves for training dogs for military law enforcement, security, protection and sport purposes, comprising sleeves with similar construction and appearance; each sleeve offering a different level of resistance to compression. The sleeves have one-piece handles that are contoured to fit the trainer's hand and can be mounted in a plurality of different orientations and locations. The sleeves have one-piece end caps with ledges for attachment to the sleeve and holes to provide ventilation. Different variations of leaf springs can be used in each sleeve to set the level of resistance to compression of the sleeve. Each sleeve in the set cannot be visually distinguished from the other sleeves by the dog in advance of the training, and each sleeve has similar construction so that it is necessary for the trainer to become adept at handling only one type of sleeve.

Abstract: A fabric refreshing composition is disclosed, which provides long-lasting fragrance retention, malodor reduction, and wrinkle abatement. This composition includes a water soluble silicone of the formula I: wherein M is 40 to 200, N is 0 to 20, and R1 is a polyethylene or a polypropylene ether; a fragrance composition; and an aqueous carrier comprising an emulsifier. Processes for refreshing fabrics using such compositions are also provided.

Abstract: A filter-heat exchanger includes a plurality of hollow wires arranged in parallel with a slit of a predetermined width formed between adjacent hollow wires. The hollow wires each have an inlet and an outlet for a heating/cooling fluid whereby the heating/cooling fluid flows through the hollow wires and fluid to be filtered flows through the slits from one side of the parallelly arranged hollow wires to the other side of thereof. The filter-heat exchanger can accomplish filtering and heat exchanging processes simultaneously in a single step.

A support member projects from the base and an elongated mounting rail is supported by the support member in a spaced apart relationship with the base. The rail has a pair of spaced apart elongated mounting flanges and a mid-portion which joins the flanges to the support member. The mid-portion includes a first wall segment and a second wall segment which are joined together so as to define a V-shaped groove which is configured to accept a sheet metal screw. Objects such as other dimensions of rails and electrical boxes may be mounted to the track using a sheet metal screw that engages the groove.

Abstract: A visual information system includes an array of light emitting elements located at the side of a train track. The elements are individually energizable by a controller in response to a predetermined program stored in a memory and representative of a predetermined visual image. The controller causes selected elements to be turned ON and OFF, some repetitively, in a predetermined sequence as dictated by the program with a time span of 0.015 seconds. A sensor activates the controller upon the approach of a train so that a passenger gazing at the array as the train passes will perceive the image apparently extending over an area substantially greater than the area of said array.

Abstract: A splash guard for the open upper end of a toilet bowl to prevent water or similar liquid material from splashing out of the toilet bowl when unclogging the toilet by the use of a plunger, generally known as a "plumber's helper". The splash guard includes a generally flat plate sufficiently large to cover the open upper end of the toilet bowl and includes a flexible central diaphragm provided with an opening to receive and allow movement of a plunger handle whereby vertical movement of the plunger will not result in water splashing out of the open upper end of the toilet bowl.
