  • Publication number: 20150128361
Abstract: An electric-powered submersible vacuum cleaner for filtering water in a pool includes a base with an inlet port extending therethrough. A plurality of wheels extends from the lower surface of the base to facilitate movement of the cleaner over a surface of the pool. An impeller coaxially aligned with the inlet draws water and debris from the pool surface. An electric-powered drive train is coupled to the cleaner and configured to rotate the impeller. A discharge conduit in fluid communication with the inlet extends substantially normal with respect to the upper surface of the base and circumscribes the impeller to direct the flow of water/debris drawn through the inlet by the impeller. A filter mounted over the discharge conduit filters the debris from the drawn water and passes filtered water into the pool. A rotatable handle is attached to and facilitates manual movement of the cleaner over the pool surface.

  • Patent number: 8490811
Abstract: A compactly foldable storage pouch includes a pair of resilient wire loops, a front fabric panel disposed over and covering the interior portion of the first wire loop, a rear fabric panel disposed over and covering the interior portion of the second wire loop, at least one sidewall fabric panel joining the wire loops, the side fabric panel circumscribing at least a portion of the periphery of the wire loops and defining an opening between the front and rear fabric panels and the opposing lateral ends of the sidewall fabric panel and a plurality of removeable lateral cross-members are positionable between the pair of wire loops to maintain the foldable pouch in an expanded configuration. Upon removal of the cross-members, adjacent wire loops can be twisted into a figure-8 configuration and folded over on itself to assume a compact, generally circular flat configuration for packaging, shipment and eventual storage by the user.

  • Patent number: 8281441
Abstract: A hand-held submersible power cleaner for cleaning debris from a swimming pool includes a housing having an inlet at a front end thereof which communicates with an interior cavity of the housing. An intermediate conduit having front and rear ends extends through the interior cavity. A filter is positioned between the inlet and front end of the intermediate conduit. A removable drive assembly having an impeller at a forward end and a power switch at the opposing end is removably inserted into the housing such that the impeller faces the rear end of the intermediate conduit. Dual outlet conduits communicate with the rear end of the intermediate conduit, wherein the impeller draws water and debris through the inlet, the filter occludes the debris and retains it in the cavity while the water flows through the filter assembly into the intermediate conduit, and is discharged through the dual outlet conduits at the rear of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20060265820
Abstract: An adjustable nozzle attachment for a pool cleaner includes a planar member having an upper surface and a lower surface with an orifice formed through the planar member adapted for coupling to a vacuum suction source. A plurality of attaching means are formed on the lower surface of the planar member, each of which is adapted to interchangeably or selectively receive at least one of a plurality of rollers and a plurality of brushes that extend from the lower surface and support the nozzle attachment during movement over a surface being cleaned. When installed, the plurality of rollers and brushes change the nozzle attachment's flexibility characteristics, thereby permitting a user to adjust the overall flexibility of the nozzle attachment, based upon the type of surface to be cleaned.

  • Patent number: 7060182
Abstract: A hand-held, electrically-powered pool cleaner includes a body and a nozzle for suctioning pool water. The body has a filter, an impeller and motor, rechargeable batteries, and a handle for carrying the body and for maneuvering the nozzle along a surface being cleaned the surface. The impeller draws pool water through the nozzle and the filter to remove debris water. A filter housing disposed between the nozzle and the body accumulates the filtered debris. The body optionally includes a pole attachment member to receive the free end of a pole for maneuvering the cleaner from outside of the pool.
