Abstract: A device is provided for cooling intra nasally the brain of a patient, in particular of a patient suffering from cardiovascular emergency. The device comprises a pressurized gas container for containing a gas or a mixture of gases, and at least one cannula with a lumen, a proximal opening and at least one distal opening. The cannula is for introduction into the patient's nasopharynx. Upon operation, gas expands adiabatically upon exiting from the at least one cannula, thereby cools and provides a coolant effect on the nasopharynx and inside the nasal cavity.

Abstract: An apparatus (1) for assisting cardiopulmonary resuscitation by applying compression to the chest of a patient to stimulate blood circulation. The apparatus (1) comprises a pressurized gas container (70), preferably storing a gas in liquid form, a turbine (90), an electrical power generator (91) and a defibrillator (80). The turbine is actuated by the pressurized gas and adapted for powering the electric power generator (91), and the electric power generator (91) is adapted for energizing the defibrillator (80). The apparatus may further comprise a pneumatic compressor assembly (10) operably connected to the pressurized gas container (70).

Abstract: A device for protecting premises such as residences, the device comprising at least one human presence detection sensor, a processing device and reaction mechanisms. The processing unit comprises mechanisms for modifying the operation of the reaction mechanisms each time the human presence detection sensor is activated. The reaction mechanisms may be of a conventional type comprising essentially light or acoustic devices. The device comprises mechanisms for simulating a presence inside the premises, controlled by the processing unit to simulate a presence in the occupant's absence. These simulation mechanisms may include lighting of the various rooms in the protected premises and activation of a tape recorder to play back human voices.

Abstract: A method and a device for controlling a silo unloader of the type comprising a first electrical motor for driving a gathering apparatus located on the top of the bulk material and a second electrical motor operating a winch to which is suspended the gathering apparatus for lifting, holding in position at the same level or lowering this gathering apparatus into the silo. The method comprises the steps of measuring the current supplied to the first motor and controlling the second motor for lifting, holding in position at the same level or lowering the gathering apparatus in accordance with the measured value of the current. The control device comprises a current detector and an accurate rectifying amplifier for generating a measure signal in relation with the current supplied to the first motor.
