Patent number: 11913707Abstract: A cooler has a body and a lid that co-operate. The lid is movable between closed and open positions. The lid is a freezable reservoir. A filler port is located inside the lid. The entrance of the filler port into the lid is located at a height part way between the inside and outside walls of the lid. The lid has a downwardly extending hollow peripheral formation. The filler port is spanwise inset from the peripheral formation. The lid has spanwise extending internal formations that stiffen the lid and divide the internal chamber into sub-volumes connected by necks through which liquid can flow. The inside and outside walls of the lid may be connected. The lid is provided with a “fill to” line visible from the filling port to discourage over-filling. The lid may have an insulated cap, and the cooler may have an insulated jacket.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2021Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: CALIFORNIA INNOVATIONS INC.Inventors: Guy Gagnon, Yongbing Guo

Patent number: 8070659Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an orthopedic exerciser and its actuating mechanism which, more specifically, are used for therapy, post-surgery rehabilitation or healing of a knee, of a joint, or the muscles of a leg or any other body member. Such exercisers usually allow a combination of exercises that help in the recovery of the joint, but to minimize the chances of further injuring the body part and therefore increase the recovery process, the exerciser must submit the body part to a controlled level of force. The orthopedic exerciser of the present invention includes an actuating mechanism cooperating with a resistance assembly which provides resistance and/or assistance along different directions of movement of the actuating mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2004Date of Patent: December 6, 2011Assignee: Robovic, NC.Inventors: Guy Gagnon, André Foucault, Patrick Marcoux

Publication number: 20050058425Abstract: A waveguide structure comprises a thin strip of material having a relatively high free charge carrier density surrounded by material having a relatively low free charge carrier density. The width and thickness of the strip are dimensioned such that optical radiation having a wavelength in a predetermined range couples to the strip and propagates along its length as a plasmon-polariton wave. The device includes a waveguide heater for passing a current through the strip to heat it and the surrounding material, so as to vary propagation of the optical radiation, or means for monitoring propagation of the optical radiation to determine a change in temperature of the strip. Some embodiments provide both heating of the strip and monitoring of its temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2004Publication date: March 17, 2005Inventors: Pierre Berini, Guy Gagnon, Stephanie Jette
