Abstract: A housing for a brake system for attachment to an axle of a vehicle, the brake system comprising a braking mechanism having a rotor attached to a hub, and a caliper for receiving a portion of the outer circumference of the rotor permitting stopping rotation of the rotor, the housing comprising a body defining the space for containment of the braking mechanism, and a circular portion having an outer periphery configured to divert debris generated during operation of the vehicle from the outer periphery, wherein the outer periphery comprises a plurality of channels arranged in a spaced apart relationship with respect to each other, the channels extending transversally from one side of the housing to the other side of the housing to divert the debris away from the outer periphery.
