Abstract: A display system for use by a caregiver team in managing a patient includes a substrate panel arranged to be suspended on a wheelchair with a clock face printed on the front surface with at least one manually movable hand to display a selected time. A first window display on the front surface is manually set a selected time period to visit the patient. A plurality of alternate operations on the patient to reduce pressure issues is printed on the rear and a selected one is indicated to the caregiver by moving a marker so that the caregiver is required by the clock time on the clock face to attend the patient, to carry out the selected action and to reset the clock time by an increment determined by the time period and so that the failure to attend the patient is immediately visible.

Abstract: A High Intensity Discharge lamp and method of making same having an arc tube defining a discharge chamber with opposite ends of the tube each receiving an electrode extending into the discharge chamber and define an axial gap therebetween. A thermal shield extends from each opposite end of the arc tube and defines a radial gap with the tube. The thermal shields in some embodiments extend from end plugs in the arc tube; and, in another embodiment use formed, integrally with one arc tube sections and the tube sections joined.

Abstract: An optical reading head is described which is particularly designed to read codes generally formed by fluorescent or phosphorescent bars. The codes are carried by a support, such as an envelope which moves past the head at a relatively high speed. The support carrying the code is illuminated from a light source through a set of outgoing optical fibers, and the modulated light retransmitted by the code markings is conveyed through a set of incoming optical fibers to a processing device. Such a reading head is particularly adapted for use in a postal sorting system.
