  • Publication number: 20070156885
Abstract: A graphical management interface for a radio station that simplifies programming interactions for a user. The interface has a display region for presenting programmed functions of the station. The region has first and second controls for user selection of input conditions to form programmed functions, and for user selection of output actions to be carried out by the station in response to the selected input conditions. At least one further control for user editing of the functions is also provided. The first and second controls list substantially every available input condition and every available output action of the station for selection by the user. Backplane management of the station can also be done in software.

  • Publication number: 20020065104
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inputting information into a mobile radio telephone (1) via its input data channel by appropriately moving a motion detector (10) which belongs to the radio telephone (1) and senses this movement. In this arrangement, the mobile radio telephone (1) can be constructed to be pen-shaped and can contain the motion detector (10) in its pen point.

  • Patent number: 5656876
Abstract: A battery pack (4) comprises a stack of lithium solid state cells (1) and a DC/DC converter (2) in a housing (3), for use in supplying current to an electronic apparatus, e.g. a portable telephone. This provides a stable voltage for operating the electronic apparatus as the cells become progressively more discharged without having to include a DC/DC converter in the apparatus itself. The battery pack (4) can be arranged to supply current directly from the cells (1) as well as via the DC/DC converter (2), and the DC/DC converter (2) can be made voltage controllable to supply different voltages depending upon requirements. Conductive screening around the battery pack can be provided to prevent electromagnetic interference from the DC/DC converter (2).

  • Patent number: 5477422
Abstract: A back-lit LCD apparatus comprises a LCD (1), one or more LEDs (3) (or other light sources), and a plate-like light guide (2) behind the LCD (1). An attenuating member (5) is included in front or behind the light guide (5). In the former case the attenuating member (5) is formed as a sheet of reflective material on which is printed a pattern of non-reflective dots for reducing the intensity of light reaching portions of the LCD nearest to the light source. In the latter case the attenuating member (5) is transparent and the dots are either opaque or reflective. The size and frequency of the dots may be varied to adjust the level of attenuation. Also, the pattern of dots may be graduated to provide progressively less attenuation as the distance from the LEDs increases.
