  • Patent number: 7046419
Abstract: A digital micromirror device arrangement and devices using the arrangement are disclosed. The arrangement includes a digital micromirror device (DMD) having an active area, a cover plate disposed substantially adjacent to the DMD and having a thickness and a light blocking area having an aperture formed therein. The active area is adapted to receive incoming light and to reflect the incoming light as outgoing light. The light-blocking layer is offset from a plane of the active area by at least the thickness of the cover plate and is adapted to block light from passing therethrough. • Publication number: 20050243287
Abstract: In one embodiment, a reflector directs light toward a focal point and a light source emits the light and is adjusted with reference to an optical axis through the focal point to generate a desired illumination output. In another embodiment, a reflection system reflects light and a light source that emits the light is adjusted with reference to an optical axis such that the reflection system reflects the light toward a desired focal point according to a position of the light source.

  • Publication number: 20040212546
Abstract: A method for color management in a display system based on perception. A plurality of images may be displayed to a viewer using an additive display device. Each image of the plurality may have a different color adjustment and at least two colors. An input may be received from the viewer selecting an image of the plurality based on the viewer's color perception of such image relative to other images of the plurality. Subsequent images may be displayed according to the different color adjustment of the image selected.

  • Publication number: 20040072598
Abstract: A technique is provided for reducing power consumption of an internally powered console in an audio system through frequency based signal routing. A system employing the technique includes a base unit having an interface for receiving a signal representative of acoustic information. The base unit includes a filter system for splitting the signal into low-frequency and high-frequency component signals. The low-frequency signal is routed to a first audio driver for reproduction. The high-frequency signal is routed to a device that includes a second audio driver. By removing the need to reproduce the low-frequency portion of the acoustic information, the power consumption of the device is reduced.
