  • Patent number: 5020521
Abstract: An external orthesis for motor handicaps of the hand of an upper limb of a human, comprising a para-skeleton for the upper limb and hand. The construction of the orthesis is such that the physiological joints are held under compression and the weight of the handicapped hand is dynamically neutralized. The orthesis is adapted to be operated by operation of the scapular motor to cause manipulation of the various physiological joints. Use of the orthesis speeds recovery of sensitivity and mobility.

  • Patent number: 4593697
Abstract: An external appliance to be worn on the trunk of a person compensates for lack of tone, metricity and for sensitivity in the vertebral column and trunk. The appliance comprises upper and lower composite structures respectively surrounding the hemithoracic regions and the pelvis and abdomen. The appliance takes into account differential variations in trunk diameter and provides a preferential link between the scapular muscles and pelvic motor muscles of the user.

  • Patent number: 4559932
Abstract: An external orthesis for motor handicaps of the upper limb, comprising a thoraco-scapular structure formed of a shoulder brace and a belt assembly, with a para-skeleton for the upper limb and hand. The construction of the orthesis is such that all of the physiological joints are held under compression and the weight of the handicapped limbs is dynamically neutralized. Operation of the scapular motor results in manipulation of the various physiological joints and use of the orthesis speeds recovery of sensitivity and mobility.

  • Patent number: 4422453
Abstract: Apparatus for use by a person suffering handicap of the motor system of one or two lower limbs includes a one-piece corset connected to at least one knee piece by a respective external resilient metallic femoral lever, the knee piece being, in turn, connected to a respective orthopaedic boot by means of an internal resilient metallic tibial lever. The femoral and tibial levers are capable of absorbing torsional and flexural stresses and the restoring movements they provide serve as motive force for a walking movement.
