  • Patent number: 8737990
Abstract: A method for conditional access to a digital data stream encrypted with at least one control word and broadcasted to at least one mobile device, said transmitter also transmitting a control message stream containing control words and access conditions, said mobile device being connected to a mobile communication network via a mobile access point, comprises: receiving the control message stream by the mobile device; determining a location identifier for the said mobile device by either the identifier of the mobile access point or the identifier of the broadcasting network transmitter; verifying access conditions contained in the control message, said access conditions comprising a reception condition related to a mobile access point identifier and/or an identifier of one broadcasting network transmitter; comparing the determined identifier with the identifier(s) contained in the access conditions; and authorizing or blocking the access to said data stream depending on the result of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 8677147
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for providing a plurality of receivers with conditional access to broadcast services using a simplified means for managing the control messages required by such conditional access schemes. The method involves providing all information which will allow a registered receiver having the necessary decryption key to access the services without having any prior rights loaded locally. A management center keeps a register of all subscribed receivers, including a list of services to which the receiver is subscribed, and encrypts the services using control words encrypted by the necessary keys. Control messages comprising the control words for decryption are provided within a special channel to which the receiver has permanent access, the special channel being a different one from channels used for broadcasting audio/video services.

  • Patent number: 8175072
Abstract: A first variant of the process includes receiving an encrypted stream representing a service, this stream comprising a data channel and an ECM channel; slicing the stream to send it in packets to a mobile receiver; extracting the control message channel of this stream; forming a block containing the data channel, compatible with the diffusion to the receiver; extracting from the sliced stream a control message and introducing the control message into the block, in order to form a packet. A second variant of the process includes receiving an encrypted stream, this stream comprising a data channel and an ECM channel; cutting the stream; forming a block from the stream, comprising the data channel and the ECM channel, compatible with the diffusion to receivers; determining identical messages of the ECM channel repeated in the block and eliminating identical repeated messages, while conserving at least one of the identical messages.

  • Patent number: 7907953
Abstract: A method that allows the optimization of the consumption of conditional access content in order to guarantee less vulnerable right messages involves three steps: the selection by the user of a content and the indication of this interest to said management center; the sending of a notification message containing or indicating the access authorisation message shortly before the broadcast of said content and storage of this authorisation message; and the sending of the content itself and the use of the data of the authorisation message in order to access the data of the content. There may be a fourth stage, namely the validation of the authorisation message by the user. This validation is executed in general at the time of the reception of the content or alternatively the user confirms their intention to purchase.
