  • Patent number: 6101768
Abstract: A raised floor panel is strengthened with a grated core. The working surface of the floor panel may be either solid or perforated. The floor panel is supported by a center pedestal that extends from a sub-floor. The angle of the panel can be varied by pivoting the platform of the pedestal that supports the floor panel. Two ventilation damping panels, surrounding the column of the pedestal, are connected together and may be positioned in several configurations to change the ventilation characteristics of the raised floor.

  • Patent number: 5177418
Abstract: A sweeping apparatus such as a control system for windshield wipers includes a regulating means which generates a electrical control signal for three separate wiper control means or "paths". Each path includes a differential stage followed by a motor control strage, for controlling a motor having a driven shaft on which a digital coder is mounted. The magnitude of the output signal of the latter is processed in a feedback loop by a processing circuit and passed to the input differential stage. The outputs of the various differential stages are applied to respective comparators. The latter transmit a blocking signal via a NO or OR gate, to the regulating means when the input signal to the comparator exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The invention is especially applicable to automotive windshield wiper systems.

  • Patent number: 5015931
Abstract: In a windshield wiper system for vehicles, with which a rain detector is associated, the rain detector operates according to the principle of detection of the absorption by wet glass of light rays which are subjected to multiple total reflections within the windshield. The detector comprises a plurality of non-directional light sources together with a plurality of sensors each of which receives the light from the various sources. The light sources are modulated at different frequencies, and the sensors are associated with demodulation circuits, such that more detailed and accurate information as to the nature of the reductions in transparency of the windshield is obtained. The windshield wiper system is then activated in the light of this detailed information.

  • Patent number: 4733147
Abstract: The control device comprises a manually operable switch and a system for controlling the stopping of the motor in a fixed position corresponding to a parking position of a windshield wiper. The system comprises an electrical circuit with at least one sliding contact intended to interact with at least one track having electrically conductive and isolating sectors, a relative rotary movement between the sliding contact and the track being controlled by the motor. One of the elements formed by the sliding contact and the track is intended to be connected to the supply terminal of the motor armature, while the other such element can be grounded during the rotary movement. Said one element is connected to the supply terminal of the motor by means of electrical breaker designed to remain open when the wiper motor is operating normally and close when the manual switch is actuated to control the stopping of the motor.
