  • Patent number: 4902178
Abstract: A rapid securement device for a tool or workpiece holder, comprising an elongated stem, and an elongated axle extending through the stem for axial movement relative to the stem. The stem has a head thereon, the head having a hole therethrough that registers with holes through the stem. A peg for holding a tool or a workpiece holder extends through the holes and has a flat surface that engages with a flat surface on the head. A spring urges the axle in a direction relative to the stem to engage the flat surfaces forcibly together thereby releasably to retain the peg in the holes.

  • Patent number: 4895213
Abstract: An impact press of the type including a tool holder slidably mounted in a slide, a hammer sliding in the slide, and a spring resiliently acting between the hammer and the slide to urge the hammer toward the tool holder. An escapement device disengages the spring from the hammer in a determined position of the stroke. This escapement device includes two connecting rods articulated to each other about an axle at one end and the other end of which is articulated about axles respectively to the hammer and to the tool holder. A return spring urges the connecting rods back to an aligned position in which the articulation axles are in alignment along a straight line parallel to the path of the hammer. One of the connecting rods includes a ramp with which cooperates a pin rigidly connected to the slide such that when the ramp contacts the pin, the connecting rods are deflected from alignment with each other. An abutment rigidly connected to the press limits the return backward motion of the tool holder.

  • Patent number: 4594866
Abstract: The lock cylinder (1) has in its widened head (2) a pivotable closing flap (4) which closes the insertion orifice of the key channel. One end (8) of a torsion spring (7) rests against the face of the closing flap (4) directed towards the key channel. Before assembly, the other end (12) of the torsion spring (7) projects above the outer surface of the cylinder (1) through a slit (13) in the head (2) of the cylinder (1), is bent round after assembly and interacts with a stop (14) connected to the cylinder (1). This design of the lock cylinder makes it easier to assemble it.

  • Patent number: 4420659
Abstract: The invention relates to a bi-stable (toggle) mechanism for a vehicle anti-theft device comprising a lever 20 pivotally mounted by a shaft 21, the said lever being subject to the action of a spring 22 and movable from one stable position through a center position to a second stable position. In the mechanism according to the invention, the said spring 22 consists of a hairpin type spring of which one end 26 is connected to one end of the said lever 20 and the other end 23 mounted so as to pivot at a fixed point 24. The distance between the ends 23,26 of the spring 22 when the lever 20 is in either stable position is greater than the distance between the ends when the lever 20 is at its center position whereby the spring becomes more compressed as the lever approaches the center position where the lever is unstable. The distance between the two ends of the hairpin spring may be less than half that length of the lever which is included between its shaft 21 and the point 24 at which the hairpin spring is located.

  • Patent number: 4153233
Abstract: A gas lighter has a hollow cylindrical reservoir formed at one end with a smooth cylindrical well at the bottom of which is formed a hole opening into the interior of the reservoir. A rigid plug is force-fitted into the well and has a pair of sides and a passage extending between the sides. One side compresses a block of porous and compressible material which serves to control the flow of gas out of the hole, and the other side of the plug serves as the seat for a valve body reciprocal in the well. The floor of the well and/or the one side of the plug may be formed with a recess so that the plug may bottom in the well with the block in the recess, thereby compressing this block to an exactly predetermined extent so that gas flow and, hence, flame height is determined exactly.

  • Patent number: 4060202
Abstract: A valve for a gas lighter wherein an elongated support body of low thermal conductivity is clamped in a tubular member forming a valve seat at its upper end to lock a flame-height-controlling filter in place below this valve seat. The improvement resides in the formation of the thermally conductive burner-carrying member with a tubular apron, skirt or sleeve which is fitted over the thermally conductive valve member and slidingly guided therein to press a valve body (rubber gasket or flap valve) against the valve seat. The gas passage in the burner member is formed only in the upper end thereof, while the apron extends into the well beyond the filter.
