    Abstract: An apparatus for making the pressure exerted by a machine-tool carriage on its slide uniform. Cams which load springs are used to apply pressure to the carriage in those regions subject to less pressure depending upon the position of the carriage. Distortion of the tool carriage slide surface and resulting inaccuracies in the machine operation are thus reduced.
