  • Patent number: 10954686
Abstract: A system and method for installing a post-tensioning tendon (130) in an equipment tower (100). A sheave frame (196) attaches to anchor rods (140), and a pulley (198) is mounted to the sheave frame through which a hoisting cable (197) is passed for connection to an end (138) of the tendon to lift the tendon to the anchor rods. A carriage assembly (150) having a shank (152) and a bearing plate platform (154) extending transversely from the shank for receiving a bearing plate (170) is attached to the tendon. The carriage assembly includes a deflecting surface (158) to deflect the carriage assembly away from the installed bearing plate upon lowering after tendon attachment. A pair of hydraulic jacks (210) tension the tendon to a desired load.

  • Publication number: 20200026891
Abstract: Various embodiments of communication and validation methods and systems using RFID components, systems and technology to implement wide-ranging applications. In an embodiment, a combination of one or more RFID tags detected by an RFID reader is communicated to a network server for comparison with a pre-programmed database of data, messages or instructions corresponding to various combinations of RFID tags. Upon matching the detected combination with its corresponding data, message or instruction, the network server communicates the data, message or instruction to at least one human interface device for review by a user of the system. An embodiment may be directed towards a system for inventory management by providing to users of the system an alert when the inventory levels for a specific product within a defined zone fall below a predetermined level and confirming said low stock alert within the defined zone by a secondary validation method.

  • Patent number: 9376291
Abstract: A crane apparatus and method are described for lifting a heavy load such as a wind-turbine generator unit 46 on to a wind-turbine tower 1. The crane is designed to climb up cables 3 attached to the top of the tower, carrying with it the cables 45 and lifting gear 31 which will be required for the main lifting operation. The crane comprises a pair of jib-frames 20 with boom arms 26, 27 which can be retracted during lifting and then deployed to a pivotable, loadbearing position once the crane is mounted at the top of the tower 1. Hydraulic strand jacks 31 and heavy-duty strands 45 are preferably used for the heavy lifting. In a preparation step, a load-bearing bracket assembly 13, 14, to which the jib-frames 20 will be secured, is hoisted up and fitted to the top of the tower 1. Once the lifting operations are complete, the crane assembly and the bracket assembly 13, 14 are lowered from the tower 1 and removed from site.
