  • Patent number: 5836149
Abstract: The invention concerns a thrust reverser for a jet engine, of the type having swing doors (6) pivoting about fixed transverse pivots (7) secured to the rear end of flanges extending in line with pipe of the engine. According to the invention, each door (6) is borne by a connecting piece (10) offset towards the front with respect to a transverse plane passing through the pivot axis and orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the door. Furthermore, the fairing (4a, 4b) extends as far as the rear end of the flanges, the said fairing and each door (6) being arranged, on the one hand, so as to cover completely the flanges in the folded position of the said door, and, on the other hand, to enable each door (6) to be brought into its deployed position without any interference between the said fairing and door.

  • Patent number: 5556491
Abstract: A method for manufacturing adhesive elements intended to be applied to a three-dimensional surface for the purpose of decorating it involves, starting from a three-dimensional model representing the surface to be decorated and physical references thereof, and a two-dimensional model constituting a projected "image" of the decoration, referencing the two-dimensional model in relation to the references of the three-dimensional model, carrying out projection computations so as to obtain a three-dimensional representation of the decoration referenced on the three-dimensional surface, and carrying out laying-out computations for this three-dimensional representation. Adhesive elements are then obtained by a cutting process driven from the computation data, and the references are marked on at least some of these elements by tracing driven from the data.

  • Patent number: 5495710
Abstract: The invention concerns a dual-flow turbine engine equipped with a thrust reversal system and at least one device for restricting the annular channel for the ejection of cold gases. According to the invention, each restriction device, consisting of a fitting (7) and a shutter (8) pivoting with respect to the said fitting, has sealing means disposed between the said shutter and fitting, adapted for defining at least one airtight chamber (12, 13) between these last two, each fitting (7) having, in line with each chamber, at least one orifice. Furthermore, elastic means are arranged so as to act on the shutter (8) in such a way as to produce an initial release of the latter. These devices aim to guarantee the holding of the shutter (8) in its closed position, where it is clamped against the fitting (7), during flight, whilst ensuring the opening of this shutter after landing, under the effect of the elastic means.
