  • Patent number: 11417304
Abstract: An electronic percussion instrument includes a body having a top opening and an internal support area, and a drumhead having a striking surface and a drumhead bottom surface opposite thereto, the drumhead is stretched over the top opening of the body and is configured to receive a percussion strike thereon, and at least one peripheral sensor disposed on the internal support area of the body, and at least one rising element configured to be flexible and disposed on the internal support area of the body, and a peripheral carrier, adapted to receiving vibrations from the periphery of the drumhead, the peripheral carrier is supported by the at least one rising element such that a pressing force is formed for setting a top circumferential edge of the peripheral carrier in contact with the drumhead bottom surface.

  • Patent number: 10937399
Abstract: An electronic hi hat cymbal apparatus for detection of vertical movement, including an electronic percussion instrument, configured to be reversibly attached to a shaft of a stand such that the electronic percussion instrument is movable upward and downward by a foot pedal operating the shaft, and a coil, induced with alternating current so as to produce magnetic field in the vicinity thereof by an electronic circuit which is configured for oscillation, and a core, comprising metallic material, disposed such that it is overlapping with the coil during play. The overlapping portion is configured to vary with the upward and downward movement of the electronic percussion instrument such that eddy currents are formed in the core substantially in the overlapping portion thereof, thereby an output signal which vary in accordance to the overlapping portion can be formed by the electronic circuit.

  • Patent number: 8940991
Abstract: An electronic percussion device includes a drum shell, a drumhead as striking surface, vibration sensors, and a peripheral and a central vibration carrier. The vibration carriers abut against the drumhead to convey vibrations therefrom to the sensor(s). The central vibration carrier is a helicoidal spring. The peripheral vibration carrier is a rigid body of solid material supported by peripheral sensors disposed thereunder. Two electrical leads of each one of the peripheral sensors are correspondingly coupled in parallel to produce only two common output leads. An electronic sound module is configured to sample the sensors and employs software procedures to detect percussion strokes delivered on the drumhead, and to generate sounds accordingly. The software procedures use averaged and aggregated signals to provide accurate detection of position and intensity of a drum stroke. Alternative embodiments of the device use only a peripheral vibration carrier or only a central vibration carrier.
