Abstract: A fluid composition is provided in the form of a wax dispersion in a liquid vehicle which is comprised of a single phase. The dispersed phase is a stable microdispersion comprised of particles having a size lower than 0.5 .mu.m. The particles are constituted essentially of a mixture of at least one wax, at least one emulsifying agent and optionally at least one oil and/or at least one liposoluble active ingredient. This mixture has a end melting point greater than 50.degree. C. and lower than 100.degree. C. The composition contains, by weight, from 0.1 to 40% of wax and from 0.01 to 25% of emulsifying agent. The emulsifying agent is a cationic emulsifier. The concentration of oil, when it is present, is less than or equal to 30 weight percent relative to the weight of the wax or mixture of waxes.

Abstract: A composite melanin pigment in the form of particles comprising a spherical core less than 1 .mu.m in diameter, which comprises at least one wax and at least one surfactant, and an outer layer which envelops the core, which comprises at least one compound resulting from the oxidative polymerization of a melanin pigment precursor; and uses of the pigment in powder form or in the form of an aqueous dispersion, in cosmetic compositions, in particular in dye products and/or make-up products and/or care products for keratin substances such as the skin, the hair and the nails.

Abstract: The invention relates to ceramides of formula: ##STR1## where R.sub.1 denotes a C.sub.11 to C.sub.21 alkyl or alkenyl radical; R.sub.2 denotes a C.sub.11 -C.sub.19 hydrocarbon radical, which is linear and carries one or more ethylenic unsaturations, and in particular one or two, or a mixture of C.sub.11 -C.sub.19 hydrocarbon radicals, which are linear, saturated or carry one or more ethylenic unsaturations, and in particular one or two, in which the proportion of saturated radicals cannot exceed 35%, these compounds being in the form of a racemic mixture of the erythro and threo diastereoisomers in the erythro:threo proportions of 85:15 to 60:40.The invention also relates to the process for preparing the compounds as well as their applications in the cosmetic and dermopharmaceutical fields.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition for the hair contains a wax dispersion in a liquid vehicle.
