  • Patent number: 6030421
Abstract: There is provided a mother-battery containing at least the following films: an anode of metallic lithium or sodium, a polymer electrolyte which is conductive towards the alkaline ions of the anode and also acts as a separator between the electrodes, and a composite cathode consisting of a compound which is reducible to lithium or sodium, an additive of electronic conduction and a polymer electrolyte binder. The mother battery also includes an electronically conductive thin coating on the external face of the anode and, possibly of the cathode, in which the conductive material is chemically inert towards the electrode material and which also serves to establish permanent electrical contacts on the external faces. The laminated mother-battery of larger surface area and at least partially charged is thereafter subjected to a sharp mechanical cutting out to give thin polymer electrolyte batteries with lithium or sodium anode.

  • Patent number: 5521028
Abstract: Metallization by deposit under vacuum of metal on a face of a support film of synthetic resin at a thickness of 0.005 to 0.1 micron, followed by the electrochemical deposit of an additional metallic layer, whose thickness is between 0.1 and 4 microns. A coating of an electrode of a generator is then applied on the surface of the collector thus prepared. The assembly is characterized by the adhesion of its components and its facility of mechanized handling during the steps of assembling the complete generator.

  • Patent number: 4683181
Abstract: Electrochemical generator, the electrolyte of which is made of a macromolecular material comprising a salt in solution and of which the positive electrode is a composite electrode which comprises as active material a metallic compound adapted to be reduced by the cation of the salt in solution by generating during this reduction new species which can include the zero oxidation degree metal, said generator being able to operate reversibly at ambient temperature.
