Patent number: 11433199Abstract: A method of ventilator control that includes receiving machine data from a mechanical ventilator and detecting one or more clinical events in the received machine data. The method further includes evaluating the machine data within the detected one or more clinical events for compliance with lung protective ventilation (LPV) recommendations. The method further includes at least one of producing a visual indication or a graphical display of the evaluated compliance with the LPV recommendations and controlling the mechanical ventilator based on the evaluated compliance with the LPV recommendations.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2020Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: James Joseph Hanrahan, Brandon Henak, Guy Vesto, John Page

Publication number: 20210375446Abstract: A system for monitoring room use in a medical facility. The system includes medical devices having sensors that produce machine data corresponding to operation of that medical device. A central processing module analyzes the machine data to identify portions corresponding to clinical cases via at least one of: detecting changes in operational status within the medical devices, detecting changes to devices settings within the medical devices, and detecting a delivery or consumption of anesthetic agent by the medical devices. The central processing module further analyzes the identified portions of the machine data corresponding to the clinical cases to identify procedural events, then automatically determines a current use status for the monitored rooms based on the procedural events identified. A display device communicates with the central processing module and displays the current use status determined for each of the monitored rooms.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2021Publication date: December 2, 2021Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: John Page, Brandon Henak, Kevin Tissot, Guy Vesto

Publication number: 20210125694Abstract: A system for processing medical device data can include a processor to receive a plurality of streaming time series of medical device data from medical devices, wherein the medical device data comprises machine data. The processor can also apply a plurality of case identification rules to the plurality of streaming time series of medical device data to identify portions of the plurality of streaming time series of medical device data representing clinical cases. The processor can also execute streaming analytics to apply a plurality of event detection rules to the portions of the plurality streaming time series of medical device data to identify events within each identified clinical case. The processor can generate one or more groups for the identified events based upon predefined recipients of notifications for the identified events and transmit event notifications for each of the identified events to the predefined recipients.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2021Publication date: April 29, 2021Inventors: James Joseph Hanrahan, Guy Vesto

Publication number: 20200178903Abstract: A method of monitoring a patient with respect to a particular medical condition includes providing a machine learning model trained to assign a weight to each of a predefined set of features so as to calculate a risk severity index of a particular medical condition. A long time interval of time-synchronized parameter data is received for each of at least two physiological parameters, and the long time interval is divided into multiple segments each containing a predefined time increment of the parameter data. A set of feature values are determined for the segment based on the parameter data therein, including a feature value for each of the predefined set of features related to the particular medical condition. With the trained machine learning model, assigning a weight to each of the predefined set of features, and then a risk severity index of the particular medical condition is calculated for the long time interval based on the set of feature values.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2018Publication date: June 11, 2020Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: Rupanjali Chaudhuri, Rohit Pardasani, Hariharan Ravishankar, Guy Vesto

Publication number: 20200013501Abstract: Systems and methods of managing maintenance for a plurality of monitored medical devices include receiving streaming time series medical device data from the plurality of monitored medical devices. The streaming time series medical device data is analyzed to determine an operational status of a component of a medical device of the plurality of monitored medical devices. A maintenance procedure for the medical device is determined from the operational status of the component of the medical device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2018Publication date: January 9, 2020Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: John Page, Brandon Henak, Kevin Tissot, Guy Vesto

Publication number: 20190371456Abstract: A use status of a medical facility is monitored in a method. Streaming time series of medical device data are received from a plurality of medical devices. The plurality of medical devices are each located in monitored rooms of the medical facility. The streaming time series of medical device data is analyzed to detect procedural events in the time series medical device data. A current use status of each of the plurality of monitored rooms of the medical facility is determined from the detected procedural events.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2018Publication date: December 5, 2019Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: John Page, Brandon Henak, Kevin Tissot, Guy Vesto
