  • Publication number: 20240040506
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for reconfiguring a resource envelope allocated to a distributed unit (DU) or a radio unit (RU) based on power consumption at the DU or the RU. A virtual radio access network (VRAN) manager (e.g., a host platform for a VRAN) may perform baseband pooling to allocate a resource envelope to a DU or an RU. After an initial allocation of a resource envelope to a DU or an RU, the DU, the RU, or both may report an amount of power consumed during signal processing for one or more dimensions of the resource envelope. The VRAN manager may then reconfigure a resource envelope for the DU or the RU based on the power consumption at these devices (e.g., to minimize operating expenses (OPEX) or maximize utilization of the resource envelope).

  • Publication number: 20240022939
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for dynamically adapting a baseband resource envelope (e.g., baseband resources) allocated to a network entity. A virtual radio access network (VRAN) manager (e.g., a host platform for a VRAN) may perform baseband pooling to allocate a baseband resource envelope to a network entity for signal processing at the network entity. The network entity may perform measurements indicating the channel conditions associated with communicating with one or more user equipment (UEs), and the network entity may report the measurements to the VRAN manager. The VRAN manager may then adapt a baseband resource envelope allocated to the network entity based on the measurements to improve the utilization of processing resources.

  • Patent number: 11844028
Abstract: A base station transmits a first transmission using a first directional beam and determines an equivalent isotropic radiated power (EIRP) relationship between the first transmission and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) for a user equipment (UE). The base station transmits, to the UE, an indication of the EIRP relationship between the first transmission and the PDSCH. Then, the base station transmits the PDSCH to the UE using the second directional beam. The UE uses the indication of the EIRP relationship to receive the PDSCH from the base station over the second directional beam.

  • Patent number: 11838121
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a base station receives one or more signals indicative of a downlink compensation capability (e.g., an in-band capability to compensate for non-linear distortion, or an out-of-band capability to compensate for other FDM'd signal(s) to other UE(s), etc.) of at least one UE. The base station determines a set of downlink transmission requirements based on the downlink compensation capability of the at least one UE, and transmits data to the at least one UE in accordance with the set of downlink transmission requirements.

  • Patent number: 11812311
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station in a network of base stations may determine a predicted route of a user equipment (UE) based on sensor data obtained by sensors coupled with the base station. A neighboring base station may be located along the predicted route and the base station may provision the neighboring base station with a subset of beams associated with the neighboring base station. The subset of beams may include beams with geographic coverage areas overlapping with the predicted route of the UE. The base station may add the subset of beams to a provisioned route beam list and may transmit the provisioned route beam list to the neighboring base station in a message. The neighboring base station may use the subset of beams indicated in the provisioned route beam list for beamforming communications with the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230327933
Abstract: In a wireless communication system, a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) may affect the efficiency of a power amplifier. To reduce a PAPR, a transmitting device may utilize a PAPR reduction precoding that changes a received signal without performance impact so the overall transmit PAPR is reduced. The transmitting device constructs a frequency domain (FD) response to the PAPR reduction precoding, estimates a channel to one or more receiving devices, and applies the PAPR reduction precoding to the estimated channel. The transmitting device constructs a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) precoding matrix considering the FD response of the PAPR reduction precoding and applies the MIMO precoding matrix and the PAPR reduction precoding to an FD signal. A receiving device applies the FD response conjugated to a received FD signal from the transmitting device and processes at least a received reference signal based on the PAPR reduction precoder.

  • Patent number: 11785637
Abstract: Methods related to wireless communication systems and selecting groups of user equipment (UE) devices to multiplex for multi-user multiple input and multiple output (MU-MIMO) communications are presented. A base station transmits a channel state report configuration indicating a set of one or more interference measurement resources and precoding information associated with the set of one or more interference measurement resources to a first UE of a plurality of UEs. The BS receives, from the first UE, a channel state report including interference prediction information based on the set of one or more interference measurement resources and the precoding information. The BS uses the channel state report to determine a group configuration for the plurality of UEs. Other features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 11750308
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station (BS) may determine a first planned transmit beam configuration of the first BS. The BS may obtain a second planned transmit beam configuration of a second BS. The BS may determine that a first planned transmit beam of the first planned transmit beam configuration will interfere with a second planned transmit beam of the second planned transmit beam configuration. The BS may modify the first planned transmit beam, the second planned transmit beam, or both, based on the interference determination.

  • Patent number: 11736321
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform online spur detection and mitigation scheme. The UE may identify spurs during operation, in real time, and apply cancelation and noise equalization to address identified spurs. The UE may apply a high pass filter to reference signals. During a symbol, the UE may apply the high pass filter by estimating the channel on one or more neighbor tones (e.g., tones of higher frequency and tones of lower frequency that also carry reference symbols). Because the UE may assume that a channel will generally be smooth, and that noise may vary slowly or steadily across frequency resources, the UE may compare the channel noise of a particular tone to an average or normalized channel noise of the one or more neighbor tones.

  • Publication number: 20230262643
Abstract: Techniques are provided for reporting, by a device, positioning-related information to a network entity. In an example, the device receives signaling information of the network entity. The signaling information indicates one or more parameters for a report on a reference signal that is transmitted by a base station. The device also receives multiple propagations of the reference signal upon a transmission of the reference signal by the base station. Based on the signaling information, the device generates the report, where the report comprises a power and a time delay per propagation of the reference signal. The device transmits the report to the network entity, where a position of the device is determined by the network entity based on the report.
