  • Patent number: 7691219
Abstract: A method and device for manufacturing a body, a device for implementing the method, and products obtained by the method. In the method, at least a first heated composite strip is introduced into at least one die, and at the same time, at least one molten material is introduced into the die in contact with the first composite strip, to obtain at least one second composite strip, and the second composite strip is wound around a support rotating about its axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2003
Date of Patent: April 6, 2010
    Assignee: OCV Intellectual Capital LLC
Inventors: Guy Zanella, Christophe Ducret, Jacques Voiron
  • Patent number: 7402268
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a composite profile based on a thermoplastic organic material reinforced by reinforcing fibres includes making a multiplicity of continuous reinforcing yarns come into contact with a thermoplastic organic material and shaping the composite profile. Continuous yarns based on continuous glass fibres and on a first thermoplastic are brought together to be parallel and at least one consolidated tape is formed by heating them, in which tape the reinforcing fibres are impregnated with the first thermoplastic. The at least one tape is introduced into a die sized to the cross-section of the profile and at least one second molten thermoplastic organic material is simultaneously introduced into the die in contact with the tape, to obtain a profile of at least one second thermoplastic organic material reinforced by the at least one tape.

  • Publication number: 20080171200
Abstract: A process for manufacturing rods of reinforcement concentrates, a device for implementing the process, and products obtained. The method includes heating and shaping at least one bundle of strands having more than 70% by weight of reinforcing material and a moisture content of at least 0.1% before being cut up into rods.

  • Publication number: 20070108648
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a moulded part, in which the moulded part is obtained by moulding at least one composite sandwich, the said sandwich incorporating an expansion agent that reacts during moulding. The invention also relates to the moulded part obtained and to the sandwich used.

  • Patent number: 6955784
Abstract: The invention concerns a hollow composite product comprising over 20% glass in the form of long fibres, the thickness of the product walls further ranging between 1 and 10 mm about. The invention also concerns a method for making said product, which consists in inserting in a mould (10) a preheated assembly (9) comprising in its core at least an inflatable pocket covered with at least a composite structure, the composite structure including at least a filler material in the form of long fibres and the preheated assembly including a material capable of creeping, and in inflating the inflatable pocket under pressure higher than 40 bars.
