Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for supporting the identification and selection of multiple network slices for remote user equipment. In the context of a method, the method includes receiving a first request from a remote user device, the request comprising a network identifier and requested slice information. The method also includes, based at least on the network identifier and the requested slice information, obtaining a slice identifier set comprising at least one slice identifier, and causing transmission of the slice identifier set to the remote user device for use in a session.

Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for creation of a PCS connection between the remote user equipment (UE) and the relay UE. The remote UE may provide its identifier (e.g., a subscription concealed identifier (SUCI)) to the relay UE and the relay UE may forward this identifier to the network so that the network can authenticate the remote UE. The network may check the authorization of using the relay UE and/or for relaying the remote UE (e.g., both the remote UE and the relay UE may be checked for a configuration that permits the relaying). For the authentication and authorization, the access and mobility management function (AMF) associated with the relay UE may forward the messages between the remote UE and the authentication server function (AUSF) of the remote UE. In this way, certain embodiments described herein may address certain security issues related to relaying a remote UE.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are described that support transmission and receipt of onboarding support and/or authentication requirement information to a UE for registration with a network, such as a PLMN and/or SNPN, and/or network slice, via a RAN and/or the like. The onboarding support and/or authentication requirement information may be specifically configured for one or more networks, and/or network slices thereof, that utilize a shared RAN in communication with the UE. The UE selects a cell and network and/or network slice based on the onboarding support and/or authentication requirement information. The UE may camp on the shared RAN. The one or more networks comprise at least a RAN and respective AMF that provide the onboarding support and/or authentication requirement information to the UE before, or when, the UE contacts the AMF associated with the network and/or network slice.

In some example embodiment, there may be provided a method including receiving, at a user equipment, an indication, wherein the indication indicates whether a radio access network provides support for public warning system warning messages and/or indicates whether the radio access network allows the public warning system warning messages to be received by non-allowed user equipment; and deciding, by the user equipment, whether to select or reselect the radio access network based on the received indication. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed.

Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention a source node decides to attempt to handover a user equipment to a target cell based at least in part on a comparison of a closed access group information of the user equipment and a stored closed access group information of a target cell associated with the target node. The source sends to the target node a handover message comprising an identifier of the target cell, receives from the target node a handover failure message comprising second closed access group information of the target cell which the source node uses to update the stored closed access group information of the target cell.

Abstract: A technique for authenticating a user to a server using SIP messages includes forwarding an SIP request from the user agent to the server. The server then forwards a request for authentication to the user agent in response to the invite request, the request for authentication including information that the authentication will be performed using a UMTS AKA mechanism. The user agent then forwards and authentication response to the server in accordance with the UMTS AKA mechanism and the server then performs the appropriate actions to perform an invoked SIP procedure in response to the SIP request. The SIP request may include any standardized SIP request including an SIP INVITE request or an SIP REGISTER request.
