Abstract: A pharmaceutical ointment is disclosed containing to 10 percent by mass of micronized piroxicam, 15 to 30 percent by mass of hydrophobic carrier(s), 60 to 75 percent by mass of water, 0.1 to 10 percent by mass of additive(s), and 2 to 5 percent by mass of emulsifiers selected from (i) a poly(ethylene glycol) alkyl or alkenyl ether and (ii) a sorbitane ester of a fatty acid or an oleic acid in a mass ratio of 3:1 to 1:3. The ointment is free from skin irritative action and has local antiphlogistic activity. In addition, a process for preparing he pharmaceutical ointment is provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to a stabile, aqueous suspoemulsion containing as active ingredient 0.2-5 weight % of primycin, 5-25 weight % of propylene glycol, 0.5-5 weight % of non-ionic surface active agent, if desired 15 weight % of auxiliary agent and distilled water in an amount necessary to 100 weight %, as well as to a process for the preparation thereof.

Abstract: The invention refers to a novel pharmaceutical composition having especially antimycotic activity and comprising the zinc complex of 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline of formula (I) ##STR1## and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. The pharmaceutical composition of the invention can be used for the effective treatment of mycotic infections on the skin surface, mucous membranes or nails.The complex of formula (I) is prepared by reacting a solution of an alkali metal salt of 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline with a solution containing an excess of an inorganic or organic zinc salt or a zinc complex having a lower stability constant than that of the complex of formula (I) and separating the product precipitated.

Abstract: The invention refers to a novel pharmaceutical composition having especially antimycotic activity and comprising the zinc complex of 5-chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline of formula (I) ##STR1## and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. Abstract: The invention relates to an inclusion complex of 1-(p-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-indol-3-yl-acetic acid (indomethacin) and cyclodextrin of a molar ratio of about 2:1. The inclusion complex can be prepared by reacting about 2 moles of alpha or beta cyclodextrin with about 1 mole of 1-(p-chloro-benzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-indol-3-yl-acetic acid under heating in the presence of an organic solvent which dissolves indomethacin and does not form a stable complex with cyclodextrin. The new complex is at least as active antiinflammatory agent as indomethacin and at the same time shows substantially less ulcerative side-effect.
