Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation and use of antidote-carrying maize plant parts which are useful for lowering the cultivated plant-damaging effect of thiolcarbamates and chloroacetanilides, which comprises treating native or artificially genmanipulated macroorganisms living in the soil or on the soil surface by the thiolcarbamate and chloroacetanilides compounds and using the living organisms thus made antidote-carrying for the treatment of field soils in a fresh state or after preservation by lyophilization or by application onto a carrier in their original state or after working up them by crushing, pulverisation, extraction or drying, before or simultaneously with or after the treatment with the herbicides, in any time until the germination of the cultivated plant, whereby the selectivity of thiolcarbamates of the formula (I) and chloroacetanilides against cultivated plants, preferably against the maize is increased.

Abstract: A fungicidal composition comprising as active ingredient a 2-(O-[substituted]alkyl)-2-thio-1,3,2-oxathiophospholane of the Formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1,R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently from each other stand for hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkynyl andX represents halogen, hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl or mercapto. The process for the preparation of the compounds of the Formula I involves phosphorous pentasulfide, alcohols and pyridine. The compositions are wide spectrum fungicides, particularly useful in combating Sclerotinia sp., Penicillium sp., Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp., Phytophthora infestans and powdery mildew.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions useful for prolonging the action and increasing the selectivity of herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredient as well as to highly selective herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredients and optionally an antidote wherein an animal derivative of the general formula (III) is used for achieving the prolonged action and increased selectivity. In the formula (III) ##STR1## R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 stand independently for hydrogen, a C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.3-7 cycloalkyl or C.sub.2-5 alkenyl group optionally substituted by a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group; andR.sub.9 stands for hydrogen or a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group optionally substituted by halogen, or a phenyl group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel N- and optionally N'-substituted (N-dichloroacetyl)glycine amides of the formula I with antidote action, to antidote compositions containing such compounds, to selective herbicide compositions containing these antidotes together with herbicidally active compounds and to a method for treating cultivated plants with said compositions.

Abstract: The invention relates to new compositions for increasing the cold resistance of cultivated plants. These compositions contain as active ingredient at least one compound of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of 2 to 5 and R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each stand for hydrogen or C.sub.1-5 alkyl, or an acid addition salt thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 70% by weight, together with a conventional diluent and/or additive.The plants treated with the compositions according to the invention are more resistant to cold and frost.
