Abstract: A method for encapsulating a cellulose based substrate with polymeric film involves raising the temperature of the respective films using an electromagnetic radiation source and providing a pressure differential between an environment defined between the films and an environment external to the films so that conformance of the films to the cellulose based substrates is promoted. The cellulose based substrate is entirely encapsulated by the plastic films and the films are sealed around the peripheral edges of the cellulose based substrate as well as edges that are defined by slots and cutouts.

Abstract: A combined stacking tab is provided for use with a container having a containment portion and a lid. The containment portion includes a lateral panel and an upright wall. The upright wall includes an upper edge with a stacking tab. The lid also includes a lateral panel and an upright wall connected to the lateral panel. A lid stacking tab is cut from portions of the lid lateral panel at its connection to the lid upright wall, thereby resulting in an opening in the lid lateral panel. As erected, the lid stacking tab remains in the plane of the lid upright wall, with the containment portion stacking tab being located within the opening of the lid lateral panel. The combination of the containment portion stacking tab and the lid stacking tab forms a combined stacking tab of at least double-ply material thickness.

Abstract: A single piece corrugated paperboard blank is cut and scored to provide a field erectable container without the use of any additional elements for locking pieces together. The container is one having inclined side walls so that the produce, such as asparagus or green onions, which is stacked in a vertical orientation may be packaged and held in place during shipment. The bottom of the erected container is larger than the top and an integral opposed strapping arrangement is provided whereby a plurality of flaps or panels are arranged to be folded into an orientation and locked in place to provide a field erected container which has great vertical stacking strength. Sufficient cooling vents are provided as are opposed hand holds. Upstanding stacking tabs are also provided so that one packed container may be stacked atop another and be substantially held in place.
