  • Publication number: 20240062642
Abstract: A status indicator for a capacitor may include first and second indicator plates, each respectively defining a first face and a second face visually distinct from the first face. The first face of each of the first and second indicator plates is displayed during nominal operation of the capacitor. The second face of only one of the first and second indicator plates is displayed in response to a partial failure of the capacitor. The second face of each of the first and second indicator plates is displayed in response to a complete failure of the capacitor. A system may include a capacitor, and the status indicator coupled to the capacitor. A method for visually indicating a status of a capacitor may include controlling, by a controller, first and second indicator plates to display selected faces indicating nominal operation, partial failure, or complete failure of the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 9744506
Abstract: A receptacle having a plurality of interconnected chambers arranged to permit multiple process steps or processes to be performed independently or simultaneously. The receptacles are manufactured to separate liquid from dried reagents and to maintain the stability of the dried reagents. An immiscible liquid is included to control loading of process materials, facilitate mixing and reconstitution of dried reagents, limit evaporation, control heating of reaction materials, concentrate solid support materials to prevent clogging of fluid connections, provide minimum volumes for fluid transfers, and to prevent process materials from sticking to chamber surfaces. The receptacles can be adapted for use in systems having a processing instrument that includes an actuator system for selectively moving fluid substances between chambers and a detector. The actuator system can be arranged to concentrate an analyte in a sample. The detector can be used to detect an optical signal emitted by the contents of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 8398508
Abstract: A method for a predicting golfer's performance is disclosed herein. The method inputs the pre-impact swing properties of a golfer obtained from a CMOS imaging system, a plurality of mass properties of a first golf club, and a plurality of mass properties of a first golf ball into a rigid body code. Ball launch parameters are generated from the rigid body. The ball launch parameters, a plurality of atmospheric conditions and lift and drag properties of the golf ball are inputted into a trajectory code. This trajectory code is used to predict the performance of a golf ball if struck by the golfer with the golf club under the atmospheric conditions. The method can then predict the performance of the golf ball if struck by the golfer with a different golf club. The method and system of the present invention predict the performance of the golf ball without the golfer actually striking the golf ball.

  • Publication number: 20130055058
Abstract: Animation for the recalculation of formulas in a spreadsheet may be provided. A user interface may be displayed on a computer for updating formula output values. The computer may then receive an update of formula input values in a formula utilized for generating the formula output values. The computer may then animate a display the formula output values being replaced with recalculated formula output values based on the received update. Animation for sparklines and conditionally formatted content in a spreadsheet may also be provided. A user interface may be provided for displaying sparklines and conditionally formatted content in the spreadsheet. The computer may then receive an update of one or more values associated with the sparklines and the conditionally formatted content. The computer may then animate a change in the display of the sparklines and the conditionally formatted content based on the received update.

  • Publication number: 20120265781
Abstract: A method for semantic-based information input that includes receiving a user input from a user. The method also includes querying a database using the user input as a keyword, wherein the database includes objects, wherein each object includes a name and at least one attribute and ones of the objects include respective pointers to others of the objects indicating types of relationships therebetween. The method further includes receiving a query result, wherein the query result includes at least one matching object for which the keyword matches the at least one object's name or at least one attribute and at least one object with which the at least one matching object has a relationship indicated by the at least one matching object's pointer and presenting the query result to the user.
