  • Patent number: 12002561
Abstract: A peristaltic pump, and related system method are provided. The peristaltic pump includes a cam shaft, first and second pinch-valve cams, first and second pinch-valve cam followers, a plunger cam, a plunger-cam follower, a tube receiver, and a spring-biased plunger. The first and second pinch-valve cams are coupled to the cam shaft. The first and second pinch-valve cam followers each engage the first and second pinch-valve cams, respectively. The plunger cam is coupled to the cam shaft. The plunger-cam follower engages the plunger cam. The tube receiver is configured to receive a tube. The spring-biased plunger is coupled to the plunger-cam follower such that the expansion of the plunger cam along a radial angle intersecting the plunger-cam follower as the cam shaft rotates pushes the plunger cam follower towards the plunger and thereby disengages the spring-biased plunger from the tube. A spring coupled to the spring-biased plunger biases the spring-biased plunger to apply the crushing force to the tube.

  • Patent number: 11463162
Abstract: A scalable signal processing system is disclosed that processes digitized spectrum received from a constellation of satellites (or other sources), extracting multiple digital signals from multiple sources through multiple acquisition sites that is virtualized with high availability. A system of one or more antennas can receive a range of frequencies of raw spectrum covering multiple visible orbit planes, where a single antenna can receive signals from multiple satellite concurrently. This can be particularly useful when establishing a constellation satellites, where a number of satellites can be grouped together within an antenna's field of view. A group of digitizers receive the signals from the antennas and creates raw samples to form a spectrum sample pool. The spectrum sample pool is stored in a raw frame archive, where the digitizers and raw frame archive can be co-located and can also be co-located with one or more of the antennas.

  • Publication number: 20190251855
Abstract: A combination of knowledge representation and retrieval, assessments and personalization for a tutoring platform that provides an automated phased word exposition method for vocabulary learning and enable learners to learn words (or any learning objective) with sufficient proficiency and without excessive repetition. The phased learning objective method implements a moving average model that models the learner across multiple dimensions (e.g. reading, listening, writing, speaking) such that the platform is confident of the learner's understanding, while using minimal assessment doses, and such that the understanding transfers across experiences. The method implemented provides for multiple learning and assessment activities for a learning objective and leverages the same learner model for each learning dimension. Each word of a word set passes through learning and assessment-only phases for statistically significant evidence of learning.

  • Publication number: 20140086722
Abstract: An assembly for increasing air flow to a vehicle cooling system includes a portion of a cooling fan shroud, the portion having a face defining an opening therethrough, and a plurality of support members extending from the face. A flap includes a plurality of apertures proximal to an edge. Each aperture of the plurality of apertures is formed to receive one of the plurality of support members for coupling the flap thereto. A clearance fit formed between the apertures and the support members permits movement of the flap from a first position generally parallel to the face to a second position in response to a flow of air.

  • Patent number: 8584180
Abstract: A system and method for resource sharing are provided. The method includes storing an electronic programming guide (EPG) application and an EPG, determining when local memory of a local video device lacks capacity to download additional time of the EPG, and communicating with another device to transmit a resource request to the other device to download the additional time of the EPG to storage in the other device. The method also includes processing for display monitoring data that indicates remaining storage space in the storage of the other device, querying the other device to determine what programming is being viewed, and processing controls included in the EPG application that enable access to the storage of the other device to interact with the EPG stored on the other device through the local video device to schedule a programming event at the local video device.
