  • Patent number: 6539975
Abstract: A gas container has a gas inlet, a gas outlet, a variable-volume chamber connected to the gas inlet and the gas outlet and a constant force applicator acting on the variable-volume chamber so that constant gas pressure prevails in the variable-volume chamber, regardless of variations in the chamber's volume. The constant force applicator is formed by a spring and a force transfer mechanism that interact with each other through a center of rotation (14) and an application point. The force transfer mechanism varies the distance between the center of rotation and the application point according to the variation in the volume of the variable-volume chamber.

  • Patent number: 6360742
Abstract: Means are provided for connecting at least one breathing gas cylinder to a face mask or like device in breathing equipment of the kind used by firemen and divers, for instance. The means includes a three-way coupling (5) in which at least one of the connections is comprised of a hose connector (10) which can be adjusted angularly in relation to the two remaining connections (9, 13). The coupling means can be used for different purposes and is relatively insensitive to external influences.

  • Patent number: 6290111
Abstract: A harness for holding and supporting at least one gas pressure-container. The harness includes a backplate, a container holder mounted on a first side of the backplate, and two elongated support straps disposed on respective sides of a symmetry line dividing the backplate into a left and a right part. A first end of the respective elongated support straps is attached to an upper part of the backplate. The harness further includes a waist belt fastened to a lower part of the backplate. Mounted on a lower part of a second side of the backplate is a first element which is at least substantially rigid and parallel with the backplate, and which is pivotably mounted on the backplate at a pivot point. Each of second ends of the elongated support straps is attached to the first element on a respective side of the pivot point.

  • Patent number: 6263873
Abstract: A bellows arrangement for a ventilator/anesthesia system has a rigid container in which a bellows is arranged. The first end of the bellows is fastened to one end of the container, and the other end is displaceable relative to the first end. The container is connected to a propellant source of the ventilator/anesthesia system, and the bellows is in gaseous communication with a respiratory circuit of the ventilator/anesthesia system at the first end. In order to insure that the bellows always moves smoothly in a simple and inexpensive fashion, the second end of the bellows is provided with a guidance fixture which is connected to the container in every position of the second end so that, in an expansion or compression of the bellows, the second end is always displaced along the center axis while remaining substantially of the bellows parallel to the first end.

  • Patent number: 6230666
Abstract: A vaporizer for vaporizing liquid anesthetic has a chamber for liquid anesthetic, a gas flow passage, a throttle in the gas flow passage, a first connection between the chamber and the gas flow passage upstream from the throttle and a second connection between the chamber and the gas flow passage downstream from the throttle. The vaporizer is more accurate and usable with different liquid anesthetics by having an outlet valve arranged by an outlet in the vaporizer, this outlet valve being regulated by the pressure upstream from the throttle.
