Abstract: A wheel rim comprising a peripheral structure for receiving a tire, and a central structure for coupling with a hub of the vehicle. The peripheral structure comprises, for each side of the wheel rim, a peripheral flange, a connecting wall on which the bead of the tire rests, and a connecting part. The peripheral structure includes a central well. The connecting part comprises a first curved region which joins the central well, and a second curved region between the first curved region and the connecting wall. The second curved region has a convex profile from the side of the wheel rim with the tire, and comprises a first curved surface joined to the connecting wall with a first radius of curvature, and a second curved surface between the first curved surface and the first curved region, with a second radius of curvature different from the first radius of curvature.

Abstract: A barrier fence for use along the side of a roadway to contain a vehicle that travels off of the roadway into the barrier fence. The fence includes horizontal fence members which are typically cables supported by a plurality of posts supported vertically by the ground. The horizontal fence members are held to the posts with hooks that extend from slots defined by the posts. The horizontal fence members are placed in tension in normal use. Each post has a wide, flat, contact surface across the front of the post for the horizontal fence member to contact on either side of the slot that receives the hook that holds the horizontal fence member. The fence provides posts with flat front surfaces substantially wider than the width of the slot to increase the length of engagement between the post surface and the horizontal fence member.

Abstract: A wire rope saftey barrier for positioning along roads and/or between carriage ways for traffic in opposite direction. The barrier includes a plurality of spaced apart posts that are substantially vertically anchored in the road side. The posts include slots that receives wire ropes which can be vertically spaced within the slots. A cover is positioned over the top of the posts and the cover is secured to the post to prevent the cover from being thrown off the post following impact by a vehicle.
