  • Patent number: 9227049
Abstract: A method for constructing a plug for an electrical connection to a multipolar lead for an active implantable medical device includes providing a plug body having an insulating monobloc central core, the monobloc central core having a generally cylindrical shape, a cylindrical side surface, and a housing, providing a connection wire and a conductive pod, attaching the connection wire to the conductive pod, placing the conductive pod into the housing with connection wire extending therefrom, placing a conductive cylindrical ring on the cylindrical side surface, wherein the cylindrical side surface centers the conductive cylindrical ring coaxially about the monobloc central core, attaching the conductive pod to the cylindrical ring to create an electrical contact zone on a cylindrical outer surface of the plug body.

  • Patent number: 9083161
Abstract: A method for making an hermetic and electrically insulating feedthrough in the metal wall of a housing of a device, preferably of an active medical device, is disclosed. The method includes: a) forming electrically insulating layers (24, 26) on each of the internal and external sides of the wall (10), b) on the internal side of the wall, forming a non-through groove with a closed contour (30) defining in the wall a metal islet (28) that is physically and electrically isolated from the rest of the wall, by removing the entire thickness of the electrically insulating internal layer (26) and the wall (10), leaving intact a sufficient thickness of the electrically insulating external layer (24) so that the external layer mechanically supports the metal islet, and c) on the external and internal sides respectively, exposing pads (34, 36) for making an electrical contact to the metallic islet, by a localized removal of material of the electrically insulating external and internal layers (24, 26), respectively.

  • Patent number: 8911265
Abstract: A plug includes a pin having an axial contact at its opposite end with a mounting rod connected to a center conductor. At the interface between the pin and the inner wall of the plug body, a support sleeve mounted on the shaft and bearing axially against a collar formed on said rod is provided. Axially, a locking ring is secured to the shaft so that the support sleeve is clamped between the collar of the rod and the locking ring, if necessary, leaving a degree of freedom of rotation between the sleeve and the pin. Radially, the outer surface of the sleeve comes into direct contact with the inner wall of the bore of the plug body, to which it is directly secured. The direct attachment of the sleeve to the plug body may be obtained by a snap-in connection with notches cooperating with a counterpart groove.

  • Patent number: 8641436
Abstract: An electrical connection plug for a multipolar lead of an active implantable medical device. This plug has a cylindrical outer surface including a plurality of annular electrical contact zones axially separated and formed of conductive cylindrical rings (101, 102, 103), the electrical contact zones being alternatively separated by a plurality of intercalary insulating cylindrical zones. The plug includes an insulating monobloc core (200) of a generally cylindrical shape having a plurality of cylindrical side surfaces (213a) for coaxial centering, a conductive ring being placed on at least one centering side surface. The central core also includes housings for receiving conductive pods (240) on which connection wires (21, 22) are welded, a pod being welded to a conductive ring.
