    Abstract: Disclosed is an air turn for supporting and optionally drying a web, the air turn comprising a plurality of air bars having a wing type foil with an adjustable web-to-foil gap and multiple relief holes. The apparatus of the invention allows for the ability to control the air vortex off the lower air turn in an air turn array and to control the pressure between the web and foil, thereby eliminating web flutter.
