  • Patent number: 5050685
Abstract: A bentleg plow apparatus has a forward direction and includes a mounting frame, an upper blade-like portion secured to the frame and extending generally downwardly, a first lower blade-like portion connected to the upper portion and extending downwardly and laterally to one side, a second lower blade-like portion connected to the upper portion and extending downwardly and laterally to the other side. Each lower portion has a rake angle with respect to the forward direction, the rake angle being defined, when the plow apparatus is moving horizontally on a horizontal terrain, as the angle made to the horizontal by the intersection of the respective lower portion with a vertical plane parallel to said forward direction, the rake angle being such that the lower portions tend to penetrate further into soil being plowed as the plow apparatus is moved in forward direction.

  • Patent number: 4999893
Abstract: A method of making a bentleg plow includes cutting from a metal plate a tetragon having a leading edge and a trailing edge converging toward each other, the tetragon having a top portion adjacent a top edge, and a bottom portion adjacent a bottom edge. The bottom portion is bent with respect to the top portion about a hinge line which is such that the bottom portion has a rake which seeks to draw the plow into the soil being plowed. In a variant, a plurality of bentleg plow blades can be made.

  • Patent number: 4924947
Abstract: An improved bentleg plow has an upper blade-like portion with a leading edge extending forwardly and downwardly, and a lower blade-like portion connected to the upper portion and extending downwardly, forwardly and laterally. The lower portion has a rake angle, typically 15 degrees, with respect to the forward direction, which angle tends to improve performance. The take angle is defined as the angle made to the horizontal by the intersection of the lower portion of the bentleg plow with a vertical plane parallel to the forward direction.

  • Patent number: 4655370
Abstract: A feed meter for determining the feed rate of conveyed material comprising a rotatable encoded disc which rotates in proportion to the velocity of conveyed material and displaces the disc in proportion to the depth of material being conveyed, whereby a fixed detector provides an output representative of feed rate. One use of the feed meters is for controlling the application rate of additive material to conveyed material.
