  • Publication number: 20180236147
Abstract: A device for expressing human breast milk has a breast shield for bearing against a mother's breast, a vacuum pump for generating a vacuum, a line which connects the vacuum pump to the breast shield and is intended for transmitting the vacuum generated to the breast shield, and a chamber. The line ends on the pump side in a first port of the chamber. The chamber has a second port for connection to a milk collecting container. The two ports in the chamber are connected to each other in terms of fluid communication. During the expressing operation, the line forms a milk line for transporting breast milk expressed in the breast shield to the chamber and from the chamber to the milk collecting container. The pump can be designed to be quiet and small.

  • Patent number: 10052417
Abstract: A manual breastpump has a pump mechanism for use in one mode of operation to produce an ejection (letdown) reflex in a nursing mother and in a separate mode of operation for the general expression of breastmilk. The breastpump further provides a pump mechanism having an expansible chamber device carried by the handle, which is operated by moving the handle relative to a handle mount. A double-pivot for the handle yields letdown mode as well as the general pumping mode.

  • Publication number: 20180064859
Abstract: The present invention provides a breastshield for use in a breastpumping system for expressing milk, the breastshield being of such a construction that substantially limits the amount of air between the breast/nipple and the breastshield surrounding the breast/nipple, and most preferably virtually eliminates any air at least in the area of the breast and nipple. In some embodiments, any air in the breastpumping system is substantially eliminated. With the amount of air limited, the mechanism used for generating the pressure difference in the breastshield (e.g., vacuum or negative pressure), such as a diaphragm pump, does not need to do as much work. Less energy is required for the expression of milk, and thus the size of pump used can be decreased, thereby reducing the overall cost of the device.

  • Patent number: 9852495
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating three-dimensional (3D) depth imaging systems, and morphological and geometric filters for edge enhancement in depth images at computing devices according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes detecting an input digital image of an object, the digital image comprising data pixels contaminated by noise and confidence values corresponding to the data pixels, and computing a morphological filter by matching the confidence pixels in the input digital image with a set of matching templates, and using a set of masking templates to determine the data pixels and confidence pixels in the filtered image. The method further include computing an edge filter by performing computation of distances between the data pixels along a plurality of directions to determine an edge direction, and determining the data pixels and and the confidence pixels in a filtered image based on the edge direction.

  • Patent number: 9792671
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating code filters for coded light depth acquisition in depth images at computing devices according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes detecting a code image of an object comprising pixels of code values and pixels of metadata values including confidence and code transition locations, and computing a vertical filter to be applied to the code image to smooth out the code transitions along vertical directions. The method further include computing a horizontal filter to be applied to the code image to smooth out the code transitions along horizontal directions, and computing a consistency filter to be applied to the code image to increase an accuracy of the code values and mark inconsistent pixels as invalid.

  • Publication number: 20170029997
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and device for maintaining an optimum dampness level in preconditioned cleaning cloths for extended periods of time while still enabling repetitive retrieval and use of individual cloths. The device described herein maintains an environment where the temperature and humidity of the vapor surrounding the cloths are stored to a preset level, thereby minimizing moisture change. The invention is applicable to any cleaning operation requiring repetitive small-batch operations over an extended period of time, but is especially useful for such operations such as window cleaning in commercial car washes and food service establishments.

  • Patent number: 9510780
Abstract: A system is disclosed that extracts bodily fluid to a reaction chamber for monitoring a substance or property of the patient fluid. In one embodiment, a pump is used to advance the sample of bodily fluid through a filter to produce a filtrate. Another pump advances filtrate into the reaction chamber, while another pump advances reactant into the reaction chamber. A sensor in communication with the reaction chamber determines a concentration of nitric oxide or one of its metabolic products. Methods are also disclosed.
