  • Patent number: 5667396
Abstract: A memory card connector includes a pair of guide frames and a connector head. The ejection mechanism of the memory card connector comprises a top cover plate that has a pair of arms each extending from one end thereof for engaging one corresponding pair of guide frames. The top cover plate has a pair of guide rings each located at one end thereof and a guide sliding space formed between the guide rings. A rocker lever has a pivotal hole approximately at the center, and a guide containing opening is formed at one end. A push-out plate has a pair of sliding recessions and a pair of card pushing edges, wherein each pushing edge is located adjacent one end thereof and a guide rod formed between the sliding recession. A push rod has a rocker lever engaging slot at one end thereof. The pivotal hole of the rocker lever receives one of the guide ring shaft formed by the guide rings. The guide containing opening receives the guide rod of the push-out plate.

  • Patent number: 5588850
Abstract: A grounding strip for a memory card connector is disclosed to provide the electrical grounding of the memory card inserted. The memory card connector comprises a guide frame having a pair of guiding slots. Each of the guiding slots has formed therein a pair of notches and a receiving slot. The grounding strip comprises a substantially elongated body. A curved contact portion is formed approximate one end of the elongated body that arises generally above the surface of the elongated body. An end portion is formed at the remote end beyond the contact portion of the elongated body. A first pair of bent portions are respectively located at the opposing sides of the elongated body and extending away from the surface of the elongated body, and each of the first bent portions has formed thereon a latching means. When the grounding strip is assembled to the designated location on the guide frame of the memory card connector, the end portion would be received in the receiving slot of the guiding slot.

  • Patent number: 5309303
Abstract: A slider that moves a transducer across a surface of a rotating storage disk includes an island that protrudes from a surface of a subambient pressure cavity for supporting the transducer, the island having length and width dimensions that are less than those of the slider. A groove is positioned at the forward end of at least one of the side rails that define the cavity to allow air to flow between the cavity and an area outside of said cavity. The groove serves to maintain the distance between the surface of that rail and the disk surface equal to the distance between the surface of the other rail and the disk surface as the slider moves across the disk. The rail includes a plurality of grooves for equalizing the flying heights of the rails; a first one of the grooves intersects the cavity to allow air to flow between the cavity and an area outside of the slider, while and a second one of the grooves is spaced from the cavity by a portion of the rail.

  • Patent number: 5246294
Abstract: A self-lubricating hydrodynamic spindle bearing for support of a spindle of a magnetic disk drive assembly includes a crankcase design which provides large reservoirs for oil storage with an air cover in communication with the ambient environment through an air vents provided by clearance seals formed between respective central passages of housing-sealing endcaps and the shaft. The crankcase reservoir volume is defined within the bearing so that natural body force effects cause the lubricant to be fed into the hydrodynamic bearing. A leak-preventing capillary trap of minimal continuous axial length may be provided at the clearance seal for passive capture of wandering lubricant when the bearing is at rest. Full evacuation of lubricant trapped at the clearance seal is achieved toward the interior of the housing by centrifugal pumping, e.g.
