Publication number: 20060189702Abstract: A system having a movable platform including synthesis gas production, synthetic crude production and product upgrading is provided. The system may include one or more movable platforms on which the various production and/or upgrading facilities are located. A process for converting natural gas to hydrocarbon products is also provided where the process occurs on a movable platform. The process may occur on one or more operationally connected vessels. The movable platform may be any of a number of movable or transportable bases on which process equipment may be placed and/or in which hydrocarbon products may be stored.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2006Publication date: August 24, 2006Inventors: H. Tomlinson, E. Roth, Kenneth Agee, Ed Sheehan, Ad van Loenhout, Linda Zeelenberg, Arjan Gerritse, Peter van Sloten

Patent number: 6664215Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a composition for controlling wellbore fluid and gas invasion including methods for using said composition. The composition of the invention is a flowable slurry preferably comprising about 70 to 30% by weight of magnesium oxychloride and about 70 to 30% by weight of water. The composition is a flowable slurry at composition temperatures below about 60° C. and sets to form a substantially solid mass upon reaching a composition temperature of about 60-68° C. The phase transition is rapid, thereby limiting or avoiding formation of gel states which contribute to incomplete wellbore seals. The rapid set of the slurry further avoids invasive contamination of earthen formations surrounding the wellbore. The composition has a near-linear relationship between the time required for the phase transition to occur and the composition temperature at which the phase transition occurs.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2000Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Inventor: Brian H. Tomlinson

Patent number: 4190490Abstract: A mixture of wood chips and impregnation liquor is continuously passed through an impregnation zone, the mixture is agitated throughout said impregnation zone to maintain the consistency of the mixture constant and the residence time of the chips uniform throughout said impregnation zone, the mixture is withdrawn from said impregnation zone, excess liquor is removed from the chips and said chips are then digested in a cooking zone.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1975Date of Patent: February 26, 1980Assignee: Domtar Inc.Inventor: George H. Tomlinson, II

Patent number: 4078750Abstract: A positioning device for a critical aircraft surface, such as a stabilizing elevator in a helicopter, includes a pair of reversible electric jack-screw type actuators acting in series, each being controlled in a closed-loop fashion by separate electronic hardware, the position of each as well as the rate of change thereof being compared with the other, against limits which, according to the invention, are relatively broader at low speeds and are tightened at higher speeds. If either of the positions or the rate of change of positions of the two actuators fail to track within the variable threshold disparity, an alarm condition is manifested and the actuators are disconnected from automatic control and rendered operable by manual control.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1977Date of Patent: March 14, 1978Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventor: John H. Tomlinson

Patent number: 4005316Abstract: A circuit responsive to a change in the state of a switch for suppressing spurious electrical pulses associated with switch contact opening and closing. The suppression circuit includes a dual Schmitt trigger having its individual trigger circuits connected in series and having the input of the first trigger stage clamped to a first output of the first trigger stage to delay firing of the trigger circuits until switching transients have subsided. The dual trigger is provided with an output disable input whereby outputs of the series connected trigger circuits may be caused to assume a high resistance state thereby permitting a plurality of the suppression circuits to be connected between input switches and a common logic bus.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1975Date of Patent: January 25, 1977Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventor: John H.
