  • Patent number: 8815086
Abstract: A fluid filter assembly prevents the filter from moving when fluid is not flowing through the filter. The filter assembly of the invention includes a mounting ring mountable in the filter opening. The mounting ring has a mounting interface, which includes an axially extending portion and a radially outwardly extending flange that has a diameter greater than the filter opening. A rib extends radially outwardly from and circumscribes the ring. The rib is seatable within an annular groove defined within the filter housing and circumscribing the filter opening. When the rib is positioned in the groove, the filter is releasably secured in the opening.

  • Patent number: 7955407
Abstract: A filter made of specifically arranged filaments. The filter has an upstream side where fluid enters and a downstream side where fluid exits. The filaments are greatest in diameter near the upstream side wherein the filaments continuously and gradually decrease in thickness toward the downstream side. The pores or spaces between the filaments are largest near the upstream side and decrease gradually toward the downstream side. This allows various size particles to become entrained in the filter in an evenly distributed manner.

  • Patent number: 6572724
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for heat sealing bags having a mandrel with protruding needles for holding the bag material when the material is wrapped around the mandrel. The mandrel has a ridge for allowing easy penetration of an upwardly angled hot blade between the two overlapping ends of the bag. An apparatus composed of three hot blades of which the two outside blades enter the bottom of the bag and expand outward contacting an inner perimeter of the bag when the middle blade moves forward. The blades then retract and the bag is then fused together by pressure bars and cut by heat trimmers.

  • Patent number: 5918756
Abstract: A pressure vessel according to the present invention includes a housing with a cylindrical upper portion having a plurality of radially extending catch members on its circumference and a lid for mating with the housing with a cylindrical side edge having a plurality of hook-shaped retaining members spaced about its circumference to correspond with the catch members. A control system operates a lift to lower the lid onto the housing. A drive cylinder connected between the lid and the housing is then enabled to rotate the lid relative to the housing about its central axis between a locked position and an unlocked position. Spacers mounted to the inner surfaces of the retaining members act as bearings, guiding the lid as it rotates. As the lid rotates toward its locked position, finger portions of the retaining members cam into underlocking engagement with the catch members to draw the lid onto the housing.

  • Patent number: 5527463
Abstract: A liquid filtering device includes a vessel and a filtering cartridge within the vessel. A pressure seal between the outlet venting of the cartridge includes a circumferentially extending skirt which is communicated with pressure at the inlet of the vessel, which is higher than the pressure of the outlet of the vessel by the pressure drop across the filtering cartridge. Accordingly, the skirt is maintained in sealing engagement with a portion of the vessel or the support plate area by the vessel, thereby preventing bypass of fluid directly from the inlet to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 5514275
Abstract: A filtering device for filtering a liquid includes a vessel having an inlet and outlet communicating with a chamber found within the vessel. A flexible, liquid permeable filtering bag is suspended within the chamber and receives liquid from the inlet, which is filtered by passing through the walls of the bag. The bag is supported away from the wall of the vessel by a liner which extends circumferentially around the bag and is provided with apertures for communicating liquid through the liner. Radially outwardly extending projections extend from the solid portion of the liner which define the apertures and engage the wall of the chamber to maintain the circumferentially extending portion of the liner to a predetermined distance from the wall of the vessel. Accordingly, passages around and over the projections are defined to thereby permit liquid fluid to communicate between the vessel and the liner to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 5251776
Abstract: A pressure vessel including a lid with integral fixed lock tabs engageable with notches in the housing side wall to secure the lid to the housing. The housing includes a vent opening formed through the side wall. The lower edge of the lid is substantially bevelled and has a flattened portion to seal the vent when the lid is in its closed position. On opening of the lid, the seal between the vent and lid is broken before the fingers disengage the housing to vent residual pressure from within the housing.
