  • Patent number: 4881926
Abstract: Rotation speed of automotive auxiliary machines is controlled by a drive pulley provided on a crank shaft and a driven pulley communicating with the drive pulley through a V-belt. The drive pulley comprises a rigid pulley secured on a drive shaft, a guide holder to be rotated together with the drive shaft by a mount bolt, and a slide pulley axially-movably located between the guide holder and the rigid pulley. The slide pulley provides a power piston to be moved along a guide holder shaft. The power piston, the guide holder flange, and the slide pulley define a power piston chamber.Inside of the power piston chamber are located a flyweight to be moved by centrifugal force and a servo valve to be axially moved by the flyweight. The servo valve is fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the power piston.

  • Patent number: 4563997
Abstract: A "comprex" supercharger, which has a rotor formed along its whole periphery with a plurality of axial cells wherein air introduced into the cells for supply to an internal combustion engine is compressed by engine exhaust gas introduced into the cells, is controlled by a control system such that a drive means for the rotor is controlled by an electronic control unit in response to output from engine operating condition sensors to control the rotational speed of the rotor so as to achieve optimum supercharging pressure to operating conditions of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4530330
Abstract: A distribution type fuel injection pump for preventing generation of a smoke after start while maintaining the characteristics of excess fuel starting device. An engaging member is mounted on a control sleeve for control of fuel, and a delay device for abutting on the engaging member and delaying the shifting of the control sleeve is provided, whereby the shifting of the control sleeve in the fuel increasing direction is delayed even if there is a rapid actuation of an accelerator pedal in a low speed rotation zone such as an idle rotation time which does not have the characteristics of the excess fuel starting device which does not result in the supply of excessive fuel thereby to prevent the generation of smoke.

  • Patent number: 4458652
Abstract: A distributor type fuel injection pump which is provided with an eccentric connecting member coupling the timer piston of the injection timing control device to the roller holder. The eccentric connecting member comprises a first portion and a second portion eccentrically combined together. The first portion engages with the roller holder to support a predetermined one of the rollers on the roller holder, which is rotatably fitted thereon, whereas the second portion pivotably engages with the timer piston. Further provided is means for prohibiting pivotal movement of the second portion of the eccentric connecting member about the first portion of same relative to the roller holder. Displacement of the timer piston causes accurately corresponding circumferential displacement of the roller holder through the eccentric connecting member and the pivotal movement-prohibiting means to thereby achieve accurate control of the injection timing in response to the rotational speed of the engine.

The first portion engages with the roller holder to support a predetermined one of the rollers on the roller holder, which is rotatably fitted thereon, whereas the second portion pivotably engages with the timer piston. Displacement of the timer piston causes corresponding circumferential displacement of the roller holder through the eccentric connecting member to thereby vary the fuel injection timing.

  • Patent number: 4389998
Abstract: A distribution type fuel injection pump for use in a fuel injection combustion engine comprising a plunger capable of moving reciprocally along its axis and simultaneously rotating about its axis and a couple of members forming a cam mechanism having a first cam member and a second cam member. The first cam member is mounted on the plunger and the second cam member is mounted on a housing rotatably about its axis. The couple of cam members cause the plunger to move reciprocally while the plunger is rotating. The angular position of the second cam member about its axis can be controlled by a fuel injection timing control means in accordance with the engine speed. The second cam member can also turn about its axis so as to be adjusted in its angular position by a fuel injection timing adjusting means when the engine is substantially operated at the low speed, for example, at the time of engine start.

  • Patent number: 4067303
Abstract: Flyweights are connected to a fuel control rod through a tension lever and a floating lever. A speed control lever is connected to the floating lever so that the engine speed is determined by the rotational speed of the flyweights and the position of the speed control lever in combination. A governor spring is compressed between two spring seats which are slidably carried on a governor rod, and the tension lever moves against the force of the governor spring by engaging with one of the spring seats. A nut is threaded on the governor rod and retains the spring seat opposite to the tension arm. A pin integral with the nut is slidable in a groove in the governor housing so that the nut may move only axially. An end of the governor rod extends out through the housing so that rotation of the governor rod adjusts the compressive preload of the governor spring. The governor, which is basically an all-speed governor, may thus be made to function as a high-low speed governor.
