  • Publication number: 20090072699
Abstract: A cathode ray tube including a shadow mask. The shadow mask includes an aperture portion including a plurality of beam guide holes, a non-aperture portion surrounding the aperture portion, and a skirt portion that is bent from an edge of the non-aperture portion toward an electron gun. The non-aperture portion includes a pair of longer sides, a pair of shorter sides, and four corner portions, and a first width of the non-aperture portion measured at the longer side and a second width of the non-aperture portion measured at the shorter side are formed to be less than a third width of the non-aperture portion measured at the corner portions. The shadow mask satisfies the following conditions: 2 mm?w1<w3, and 2 mm?w2<w3, where w1 denotes the first width of the non-aperture portion, w2 denotes the second width of the non-aperture portion, and w3 denotes the third width of the non-aperture portion.

  • Publication number: 20070252226
Abstract: An image display device includes a vacuum structure having a first substrate, a second substrate placed at the front side of the first substrate to form a first region together with the first substrate, and a reinforcing panel placed at the rear of the first substrate to form a second region together with the first substrate. An electron emission unit is provided on the first substrate, and a light emission unit is provided on the second substrate. The first substrate has at least one through-hole for communicating the first and the second regions with each other in the vacuum structure. The first and the second substrates have a sealing interface varied in width along the peripheries thereof.

  • Publication number: 20070120460
Abstract: An image display device includes a vacuum vessel having first and second substrates facing each other, and a sealing member disposed between the first and the second substrates. An electron emission unit is provided on a surface of the first substrate facing the second substrate, and a light emission unit is provided on a surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate. Anode leads are drawn from the light emission unit to one-side of the periphery of the second substrate, extending over the inside and the outside of the sealing member. An anti-static layer is provided at the boundary area between the anode lead and the sealing member within the vacuum vessel.

  • Publication number: 20060145595
Abstract: An image display device where in the region of electron emission regions and the region of phosphor layers are spaced apart from each other with a predetermined distance therebetween without mounting spacers therein. The image display device includes a vacuum vessel having a first substrate, a second substrate placed to face a first side of the first substrate to form a first region together with the first substrate, and a reinforcing member placed to face a second side of the first substrate to form a second region together with the first substrate. An electron emission unit is formed on a surface of the first substrate, and a light emission unit is formed on a surface of the second substrate. The first substrate has one or more through-holes for coupling the first and second regions with each other.

  • Patent number: 6310433
Abstract: An inner shield for a cathode ray tube comprising a plurality of rectangular segments parallel to the tube axis; a flange joined to each of the rectangular segments and bent in a right angle for mounting on a mask frame; a trapezoid portion joined to each of the rectangular segments, being arranged slantwise along an inner circumference of a funnel; and a pair of holes formed in the two adjacent trapezoid portions to decrease a deflection in a East-West direction of an electron beams. Since an undesirable affection on the electron beams caused by the earth magnetic field is decreased, a pin-cushion distortion and barrel distortion of the electron beams are highly decreased.

  • Patent number: 6144149
Abstract: In a cathode ray tube, a shadow mask has a hole portion where a plurality of electron beam passing holes are formed and a skirt portion extending from the edge of the hole portion. A frame has a support portion to which the skirt portion of the shadow mask is fixed for supporting the shadow mask and a flange portion extending from the support portion. The support portion and the flange portion have a plurality of holes formed therein. An inner shield is supported by the frame.
