The probe includes a first optical fiber, a second optical fiber arranged in parallel with the first optical fiber, and an optical fiber lens which is formed by heating a predetermined region including one end of the first optical fiber and one end of the second optical fiber using a heating means such that ends of the first and second optical fibers are integrally connected to each other, the optical lens having a lens surface with a predetermined radius of curvature. The medical X-ray tube system may be formed as a pen that can be inserted in the oral cavity for displaying an accurate image of an inner location of the oral cavity needing a diagnosis. For treatment of oral cancer requiring an appropriate amount of radiation therapy, brachytherapy may be conducted without concern of exposure of normal tissues to radiation because radiation can be directly irradiated to a diseased part. The X-ray emission module may use a chipped nano-structured material, for example, a carbon nanotube.

    Abstract: A Fresnel lens-integrated optical fiber that can be easily aligned and manufactured in miniature, and a method of fabricating the same are provided. The Fresnel lens-integrated optical fiber includes a light transmission section transmitting incident light, a light expansion section coupled to the light transmission section and expanding light provided from the light transmission section, and a Fresnel lens surface formed on a section of the light expansion section and focusing by passing through the light expanded in the light expansion section at a predetermined focal length. Accordingly, since the Fresnel lens surface has no curvature, arrangement of an optical coupling system is easy, manufacture is easy, and the optical coupling system can be miniaturized.

    Abstract: Disclosed are an optical fiber probe for side imaging and a method of manufacturing the same. An optical fiber probe according to an aspect of the invention includes a photonic crystal fiber, and an optical fiber lens that is formed by applying heat to a predetermined region including one end of the photonic crystal fiber and substantially removing air holes formed in the predetermined region. The optical fiber lens includes a light diffusion region that diffuses light propagating along a core of the photonic crystal fiber and focuses the light to enable side imaging, a reflector surface that reflects the light at a right angle to enable side imaging, and a lens surface that focuses the light. A small-sized optical fiber probe can be manufactured using a simple manufacturing process, and the optical fiber probe can be miniaturized. Therefore, a light measurement system can be miniaturized, which makes it possible to obtain side images of a very small sample, such as a blood vessel.

    Abstract: An over-scanning amount for display of video images is adjusted by varying the amount of signal information by inserting or deleting pixels at spatio-periodic intervals along the horizontal scan. A judgement is made to determine if the over-scanning amount needs to be increased or decreased. If the over-scanning amount is to be decreased, pixels are deleted. If the over-scanning amount is to be increased, pixels are inserted. When pixels are inserted, the signal information for each inserted pixel may be a duplicate of the information for the pixel to the immediate left or right, or it may be an average of the information in those immediately adjacent pixels.
