Abstract: The present disclosure relates to interactive television, and particularly to devices, systems, and methods for implementing interactive television. A studio control console and viewer device execute applications for respectively producing and viewing interactive broadcast video. Interactivity is provided using interactive overlays, which are sent from the studio control console to the viewer device separately from the streaming video, but displayed as an overlay upon the streaming video, which allows different overlays to be sent to different viewer devices for the same underlying streaming video. Information about the viewer's interaction with the interactive overlays can be provided to the studio control console, processed and additional overlays can be created based on the information.
